Ipsos Acquires Maritz...

I actually like most food - really. (Foods I truly hate: cauliflower, most squashes, eggplants. Foods I just don't want to try: Liver, Rocky Mountain Oysters). I started making a point of eating healthy some time ago, however, and after doing so, my palate changed as did my stomach's tolerance to some foods....

While I actually love a good burger and good fries, if I eat them, the grease can make me feel bloated and a bit nauseated. I find that non-diet sodas are too sweet - it's like drinking syrup.... What do I eat? Breakfasts: oatmeal, non-sugary cereals (i.e. original Cheerios, Wheat Chex, Shredded Wheat, etc.) , eggs, fresh fruit... Lunches: sandwiches on whole grain breads with lean meats and lots of veggies (no mayonnaise), green salads, fresh fruit... Dinner: Lean meats, baked potatoes, veggies (preferably steamed), green salads...

Things I avoid: foods with added sugar and salt; fatty and greasy foods...

We can find okra up here.. It is reasonably common (though seasonal) at seafood restaurants (which are everywhere as we do seafood very well up here - especially salmon.)

Well that's a given, but probably isn't a food served much at the restaurants in the NW Pacific region where MFJ shops?

Cauliflower is great. You just have to cover it with some nice salty, fatty cheese sauce. It does wonders for squash too.

I think the missing key is butter.

Broccoli - add butter.
Cauliflower - add butter.
Fried okra - add butter.
Beef stew - add butter.
Pasta sauce - add butter. Actually, the best pasta sauce I have ever made is so easy - Pour into a pot two 28 oz cans of whole San Marzano tomatoes, one onion (peeled and cut in half) and a stick of butter. Just cook a couple of hours, remove the onion (and use for something else like stew) and mash the tomatoes.

I could go on.

PS my cholesterol is always in the 150 range or lower.

What is DSG? What is NIM?

Thanks.

Butter can't fix liver, or okra, in my opinion. Okra is slimy and nasty, butter is only going to amplify the slick and slimy texture. Liver filters the blood in mammals and catches all the toxins, and it tastes horrible and looks grotesque, especially in its raw form. My mother tried to slather it in gravy and tell us it was round steak, but that didn't work, I could tell by the horrid smell what it was. Rocky Mountain oysters? No idea if they taste good or not, I am not eating animal testicles, no matter how they are prepared.

I can eat all the other stuff mentioned, like broccoli, cauliflower, beef stew, and pasta sauce without butter, no problems. I do like butter on my veggies but a little salt is fine and I think they taste good without butter. Not worried about my cholesterol, either. I don't think I would be able to detect butter in beef stew or pasta sauce, so it's kind of pointless (IMO) to add it to those dishes.

I think you have to be raised on okra to like it. I love it. A pan full of okra and onions and tomatoes straight from the garden is heaven on earth.

I enjoy awkward questions and uncomfortable silences. This gas station pavement is $%^@*#& hot.
I grew up in the South. My parents were both from SE Texas near the LA border. They tried to get me to eat okra from the time I could chew. My five siblings will eat it, though my brother closest to me in age isn't a huge fan. He always just ate what was put in front of him as a kid to avoid a hassle (although he threw up a couple of times with the cottage cheese and my mom gave up after that). Me, I would sit in front of a plate of food that I didn't like until I fell asleep in it.
I hate being lied to. They said, "for right now nothing will change". The yellow shops (gas station) is being posted on Presto Insta map for base pay.

Are you sure that what you are seeing is not there because its one of those shops that KSS is scheduling for Maritz, and therefore it appears on Presto because it is on Sassie due to it being on KSS? I've seen yellows on Presto because of that before the acquisition was announced.
Is anyone else having trouble with Maritz being responsive today? I have an issue and have emailed once and left two voice mails. No response yet. I truly hope this is not a sign of things to come.

I'm almost positive that that is the case. When you click on that link it takes you to the KSS Site. Interestingly enough, one of the locations that I self-assigned with Maritz is still showing on Presto - same pay, same date range, same time of day.
no mention of maritz on the phone anymore, just ipsos... makes me sad. the yellows are still on the board for me.

LIJake - talked to a few of Maritz schedulers the last few days...they are putting out the ' prescribed company response' of "It will be good for us to have a change..." Hmmm...Ipsos is, generally speaking, a less personable and callous company in an already 'distanced' business....probably not a good thing for us shoppers.
Yep and this big presto gas campaign, I have been emailing scheduler since yesterday am with questions with no response. Even emailed operations manager. Crickets. This is not very professional, and no one wants to do these audits at all

The only good thing about that is that maybe some of the locations I would like to do but can't commit to jumping in my car to do them at the drop of a hat will still be available when I would have typically scheduled them. Personally, it sounds like they're saving money on schedulers by having us do that work instead.
IF only it were that easy. The green gas station was 12.50+5+1=18.50. Then the last session they reduced the reimbursement and they were still roughly 20 each (unless it got heavily bonused later on). This session they are a flat 19 (19-3=16) (and that's if you can stop at 2 dollars) I hate getting 2 dollars worth of gas it's like a waste of time to even get out the car and pump for less than one gallon of gas. When they were under Maritz I made 100's of dollars by adding them to my route. (a 35 here, a 45 there, or even a $50!) I have to have a 50 dollar shop to even go out of town over an hour to base the route on. Therefore, these can only be add-ons on very rare occasions or in town. So no the switch was not a good thing for that client of the MSP.
I've been taking all the OSI's I can get to make up just some of the income I've lost from Martiz since the first of the year.

Right now they went to $25, $22 +$3 reimbursement.
In my town, the basic ones got snatched the first night. There are a few in towns about an hour from me. Hopefully, we get to do some. And yes, they just went up to 25 in my area, too, today. I'm glad to see that.
Signs of things to come? Hope not...I have three days of good Maritz routes scheduled for next week, all self-assigned, some with nice bonuses (enough to make them profitable for sure), but these are *easy* and fast shops, so I looked at some other job boards to add a few more shops.
Well, lo and behold, here's a nice Home Improvement shop on the IPSOS board that has been sitting there for a while (read: we've gotten a good 10-15 emails with this location listed!)...so I email the scheduler. I'll be there next week, can do it for a $15 bonus. (Mind you, I did this location once last year for $170. It sits on the board every single month until the end) The response? I need it done before then...if it's still showing next week, get back to me. Dang. Ok. Off to look for some other fillers...never mind.
I love in an area that has so few jobs from either company that I probably won't notice a difference. I am looking forward to hopefully not have to invoice. I forget more often than I remember.
