Servimer is expanding in the DC, No VA, Baltimore region

If you are willing to drive in city traffic on weekdays, these shops pay well, allow you to park as long as you like (but not overnight) and will be available to reliable shoppers every month. This means that you can plan your shops to cover parking for: other shops you can walk to; museum visits; theater visits; shopping at high end city retailers for yourself; a whole day of sightseeing; do parking shops before and after your city 9-5 job; walk to professional hockey and basketball game!!!

I know that just registering may not necessarily get you a couple of test shops; the regional manager (who do the scheduling) are swamped. So, getting started is best done by contacting one of their managers by email and asking for 2-3 test shops.

So, by all means, register, but, also, PM me or ServimerScott (also a forum member) to get good training and 2-3 test shops.

I suspect that there may also be enough expansion in other major metro areas in 2020 that they may also need more monthly shoppers there. I have done literally thousands of these cash integrity shops and, if you get accepted for the region, I would be glad to mentor you, or even to let you ride along on a couple of my shops.

Now if they would just respond to requests for shops. I put in for one last week and never heard back.
weatherman,
What area are you looking at? I may be able to help. The issue may be that they like to have a shopper do 2-3 successful test shops before letting them have more. Did you take the training test module ? That is the essential first step.

If it is for Chicago or Minnesota please message me.
Before any shops can be assigned you must pass the certification quiz. If a shopper does not take this quiz, shops won't be assigned to them.
Turns out there was a response, but it got buried in my e-mail box. I got the response a day after I was looking to originally do the shop and it slipped under all of my other shopping e-mail. Ended up doing the shop today. It worked out fine.

I've done shops for them in the past. I am well versed in what they want. Thanks though.

PS, I will not ever do the airport parking shops they have. Ugh >_<

Servimer does have two major expansions planned for this year. As luckygirl0100 suggested, completing the brief certification quiz preemptively will make it possible to be assigned at the time of application. Otherwise, we send an email to request the certification so that the assignment can be made. With any questions or concerns about any of our work, please continue the conversation here or feel free to PM me.

.. In Chicago we have O"Hare airport with I believe 7 lots/ garages/ valet/ shuttle shopped and Midway with 5 lots/ garages shopped. These are 'bundled' so a shopper will get all locations for either O'Hare or Midway. These are the most sought after shops I have, with self assign shoppers grabbing them and MANY applications if the self assign shoppers are finally out of rotation.
I love how "one man's trash is another's treasure"......
weatherman makes a great, and often overlooked, comment about shop dates. With very few exceptions, I have found that Servimer shops can be done any hours that the facility is open. If a shopper needs to extend the due date, just contact the manager/scheduler. (Managers for the regions are also the schedulers, and most have personally performed most or all of the shops that they manage.) The more of their shops that you have completed successfully, the more leeway you will find regarding dates, as long as you can comply with client timing restrictions.

Always check the fine print AS SOON as a shop is assigned. If it states that the hours or days are restricted by the client and you cannot comply, there is a "no fault" policy for quickly notifying them that you cannot comply with those restrictions.

Thanks for the explanation of airport shops. I live near another airport and was curious as to why those were on weatherman's 10 foot pole.
The one shop I did for them was at a high rise office building of non university related companies that was on a public street near the university. The entrance to the lot was hidden on a different street. Turns out this regular looking high rise office building belonged to the university across the street, or at least the parking lot business did. The kicker was I had to go into the office and fill out all sorts of personal information including practically a thesis as to why I did not have a credit card to pay. That shop is on my ten foot pole.
But I do recommend Servimer as a great company and if I ever get over that terrible experience I will choose any other job from them.
I am still waiting to have my parking thesis graded by the university and hopefully they will send my diploma soon.
sandy,
If you report the street where the entrance was, the manager/scheduler will put that info on the assignment for future shoppers. Also, iI have never been forced to use a credit card. When pressed on site, I suddenly find mine, or decide that I really am not "over my limit" and use it. Did you have instructions stating that you could not do that? If not, my method has always been accepted.

Hi Wales I will keep that in mind. As my first shop I was not really sure how much I had to press for cash but good to know that asking once is enough for the future. I just got a very nice message from Scott. All is good. He even offered to publish my thesis on parking lots.
sandy,

That is another reason to love them! Scott, is great to work with. And I mean "with," not "for."

Thanks for that clarification, weatherman2111. Those shops can seem intimidating the first time. However, I've done over 100 of them myself over the years, and they definitely get quite easy after a few. In fact, in December I tied my personal record for being in and out in 17 minutes at the Daily Garage. Feel free to be in touch by PM, email, or phone (our number's on the job listing info) if you have any questions about the shops... they are the highest paying non-video parking shops in the area and would be a nice little recurring money-maker for someone who's nearby.
Ooh, and you may want to try our Camden Yards parking shops. I knocked out all four in under an hour last year and would be glad to share the strategy for minimizing time on site for that set of shops.

Learning all of the tricks to being more efficient is something that this MSC goes out of its way to encourage shoppers to do. And, it's very much a 2-way street. The manager/scheduler corps also loves it when their shoppers come up with a better idea to accomplish something, be more efficient, and, especially, get the job done more quickly. There are several scenarios now that a shopper may find useful to cut down their on-site time. BUT, since the shopper can stay as long as they like (but not over night) I also love that I can park my vehicle in a city center and walk to 2-3 other shops, usually all within 2 blocks, that have bonus fees because they are hard to fill. They are "hard to fill" because other shoppers have to consider paying for city garages or circling the block for 30 minutes to find metered parking. The better you know the city, the more valuable these parking shops will be to you.

Where are you? They have tons of other locations that may also benefit from the 2020 expansion.

I've done the Camden Yards ones. The only weird thing about those is finding a attendant sometimes. The BWI require tracking down maintenance for things, and I just don't want to do that any more. Sorry.
At BWI all of the parking areas have numerous phones where you can walk a few paces from the parking space and call for maintenance. If no one answers that call, you have done your duty. Just count, "One ringy-dingy, two ringy-dingy," until you reach a reasonable number of unanswered rings and report your findings. If it is answered, just wait in the comfort of your vehicle for a few minutes until the roving maintenance person arrives, usually about 5 minutes.

Camden Yards locations are usually very simple. If no attendant responds, pay as needed and leave. Never got any flack for doing so.

Wow ! Kimmie sent me a PM with her location and it turns out that it is one of the ones where Servimer expects to have a nice number of monthly shops starting this summer.

Please feel free to PM me if you are near/in any good sized city and interested. This really bears out the old advice; just because an MSC has never before had anything near you does not mean that they won't soon ! Kimmie is in exactly that situation.

Hunh. I was under the impression I had to actually interact with someone no matter what.

It's the attempt that is critical. A shopper can't force an attendant to do their job, only report it if they don't.
