Inspections pay is not great

I am enjoying doing the inspections but $17 is not great when you account for the scheduling, the onsite visit and photos/report completion. What other MSCs do this type of work?

That's quite unspecific sad smiley
Always ask for PAD. Aim high, then lower your request until it is something you can get consistently. Adjust it from there.

I thought I was posting under a specific topic which would have made my comment more clear. I'm talking about doing business onsite inspections (photos/report). Easy work but there is 1. scheduling the appointment 2. appointment/photos 3. uploading photos, filling out report and the pay is $17. I am enjoying doing these but just wondered if there are other companies doing similar work and also if everyone is doing these inspections at the $17 fee.
It was clear to those who know what you are referring to. Are you using the mobile app? That makes reporting so much easier.

What are the Onsite Inspections like? I'm certified to do them with that MSC but haven't accepted any yet, out of aprehension mostly that I'd get a job that was over my head. I saw that some of them require building measurements and sketches.
The $17 ones require an interview and pictures of key items. These can be done via mobile app. No measurements are required.

The $23 ones require the above and ID verification.

The $15 ones require exterior pictures, no measurements.

The $70 require pictures and measurements of the exterior and each interior room. PITA.

Always ask for PAD.

The $17 don't sound much harder than the cellphone compliance audits that I've done for Market Force. I had to call ahead and let them know that I was coming and take pictures of any violations that I found. As far as PAD goes, do you know if it goes by the client or the scheduler? I've easily gotten PAD for the last minute cell phone mystery shops but never for the last minute grocery shops and these 2 stores are in the same strip mall.

I don't have a formula. I ask for a certain amount based on distance, traffic, base, etc.

Search the forum for better answers.

They can be easy peasy, and sometimes they can be inspections from hell. Just wait until you have to chase down a manager who wants you to do your job on his schedule. Putting an inspection on an out of town route shopping trip is a disaster waiting to happen. What if the manager is not there? Your route schedule is shot. I did the inspections for a year, and then decided it was not worth the cost for renewing my certification.
I was only looking at the inspections in the surrounding areas. I haven't really had an opportunity to do any jobs when I've been out of town except for Mobee & Field Agent.
I used to do that type of on site inspection back around 2001. It paid $17 way back then.
The jobs won't be under the app until they are assigned.

When I was completing inspections for Trendsource 15 years ago, the fee was $21. When they decided to lower the fee, the explanation I received was a need to be competitive. As that was not my problem, I discontinued accepting that work.

This will sound like the proverbial broken record, but if a shopper is willing to work for a pittance, companies will accommodate that decision. Fees will only escalate if shoppers decide and hold the line that enough is enough. The biggest problem is that some folks are financially unable to adopt such a position.
shopperbob, money is made with PAD. Never, ever take an inspection for base pay, even if it is walking distance.

Trend is by far the lowest...... By FAR! I wont say who but I get $50-$60 each for years on these. I know for a fact they are getting that much from equifax. I am on a friend basis with the other company. They checked.
This week I have had 3 jobs and all went to someone else with the pad I am getting tired of these lying SOBs sure it will be on your log if approved. And I see an email for it but when I go check it has been taken by someone else so I have stopped answering the phone from them.
2stepps, I don't understand. The inspections were on your log and they went to someone else? Did you not complete the assignments when they were due? How do you know the other person got PAD?

Trend is not the lowest. There is another company that pays $4 to do houses with 10 pics and $6 to do a business with up to 15 pics.
PAD is an acronym used only by one company as far as I know. It means basically pay for distance. I forgot what the "A" actually stands for.
Is this company on the list? Could you perhaps give us the # on the list or the letter of the alphabet the company name starts with?
Trend Source. None of the clients have been named, so it is fine to give the MSC.

I also always ask for PAD, typically to get to at least $30 unless it's really close to me. I also ask for PAD for their I-9 verifications since $10 doesn't cut it for me.

When doing these, I strongly suggest doing them online while you are there, if at all possible. It may take a little longer while you are doing the inspection, but you also make sure that you didn't forget anything and potentially have to go back. Sadly the app occasionally decides that it does not have Internet even though it does and not been able to actually submit it at the location, but it still lets you go thru answering questions and I've always been able to recover from that after the fact.

Mr. Bill, I have had the bad internet on occasion. When I call to schedule the appointment, I will let the client know that I may need their wifi password. I've needed to use it maybe twice.

I've gotten the bad Internet error even when I'm on Wifi and it's been working fine. I think it's a bug in their app.

I've found that sometimes if I go into airplane mode and then back out, it may fix the problem. Other times I need to wait until I get home to submit it.

Mr. Bill, via the mobile add, you check inand out, take the required pics get the signature and submit later? I did not know that was possible.
