Marketforce - Did I get deactivated?

Hello,

I received this morning an email from Marketforce that said that "due to internal scheduling conflict" the two shops I had scheduled had to be cancelled, and now on the job board, the jobs are "loading" but never show up. Did that ever happen to anyone before? Does that mean I got axed by Marketforce like other shoppers? This is weird...

Well, it turns out it's something completely different - sorry about the vent, but I'm frustrated!

I live in Los Angeles and travel 2-3 times a year at least to Las Vegas. I have my Nevada work card and regularly shop Las Vegas with HS Brands or A-Closer-Look or Preferredinvestigation. I always looked at the shops in Las Vegas on Isecretshop, but they were through QSI. When I first reached out to QSI a couple of years back, I was told I could not shop with them if I was shopping already for A-Closer-Look. ACL had no idea of this restriction and they were fine with me shopping with any other MSC. I tried to sign up again with QSI a couple of months ago, and that restriction had been lifted off so I signed up with them and in February did two shops with QSI. All went well.

Today, I receive this first email in the morning from Marketforce. And then a couple of hours later, I receive an email from QSI saying, "We found that you have not met the criteria of completing 8 shops consistently for the last six months" and that my employment was terminated. When I replied to the email, I was told that I did not shop 8 shops per month therefore I was terminated. Since I was able to apply and get a couple of shops, I wonder why they even let me shop with them in the first place. 8 shops per month would mean that I'd have to go to Vegas every month, if QSI approves all my shop applications in the first place. But the best part came moments later from Marketforce who, answering my email requesting more details about the cancellation of my shops, tells me that QSI had sent a request to terminate my employment with Marketforce. It so happens that QSI schedules for Marketforce in Nevada, but thanks to QSI, the shops that I had scheduled with Marketforce got cancelled and now I can't access any shops anymore. I have to wait for Marketforce to re-instate me and eventually find the shops I had already scheduled.

At the end of the day, not a big problem, but I did lose for now the shops I had scheduled for Marketforce, and anyone who's ever shopped knows that sometimes routes are organized around those, just like it was the case for me, and I'm losing those opportunities.

I don't understand those restrictions on QSI - why would you even do that? From a business perspective, it doesn't make sense!!!

Again, sorry about the vent, but I'm pissed!
I do not work in Nevada or for QSI which I have never heard of but I can understand a company not wanting to bother with very part time people. It would have been nice of them though to have told you their rule about that upfront...perhaps it was buried in small print. They may have given you a grace period to start fulfilling their requirement and now your grace period is over. In any case I am glad you got it straightened out and are back in good graces with MF.
Mine are "loading" as we speak! That's why I came here, to wait for the site to load. Must be a problem at their end.
When I "worked" for QSI in NV years ago (maybe 2013?), Alex told me that you had to work for Marketforce in NV or in the other 49 states. You can't do both. I chose to work outside of NV. It was the only MSC that worked that way.
I still have no access to the Marketforce shops this morning. I had a few shops scheduled with them already part of routes! That is very frustrating.

As stated above, unless the policy has changed, you can’t work both outside of Nevada and in Nevada for market force.
I never worked for Marketforce in Nevada - QSI decided to terminate employment because I did not do 8 shops a month, and while doing so, banned me from Marketforce. Again, never worked for Marketforce in Nevada and had never even applied for those shops
This all sounds a little wonky. You have to be a licensed PI to conduct shops within Nevada - it's a state law. That is typically why Market Forces uses QSI. As I understand it, you can do overt shops (audits, merchandising, theatre, etc.) with no restrictions. Market Force typically staffs their covert shops through QSI and/or other Nevada providers. Their NY team does the bulk of the overt assignments and if you aren't signed up with them, you should go ahead and apply. certifiedfieldassociate.com

If you had an ID for MarketForce whether you used it or not, they would ban you most likely.
That sounds like it is against the law. A company is not allowed to restrict your right to work. when you no longer work for then it has been ruled on by the courts.

When I signed up for QSI many years ago, I was told that MarketForce makes you choose: IC in 49 States or Employee in NV. Take your pick; you can't do both. So, I chose to stay with the IC in 49 States. I think that is what happened here.
