WTH Marketforce?

I emailed the helpdesk with offers for 3 shops. 5 minutes later, 2 of them appeared in my assignment list for less than half of what I offered! Hell no. I cancelled them. I'm not driving 30 miles during a shelter in place order for less than half of what I offered. Has this happened to anyone else?

One time I was assigned a shop at a lower fee than I had negotiated with the scheduler over the phone. I wrote to the helpdesk and received a response stating that I needed to give them time to update the system with the correct fee. At the time, I felt the response to be rather rude. Since then, I just wait it out and they seem to fix it in their own time. I have not, however, had a make an offer or email request assigned at a lower price than offered. Those have either been declined or assigned at the requested rate.
I soley get my bonuses from the schedulers. After talking to a scheduler, I got the bonus I wanted. When I checked the email, the fee was much less. However, when I looked at the app, the fee was what we discussed.

Why are you doing any shops during a shelter in place order?
Unfortunately, the same reason that people think it's ok to fly for fun or go to your beach house to "shelter in place" right now.

Shopping the South Jersey Shore
Work is still allowed in my state. We can leave home for work, essential shopping, medical appointments, to get food from drive thru or take out, and other essential things like car care appointments, and so on. As my full time job is closed, I need Marketforce work more than ever.

In my area the only work allowed would be for employees of what are deemed essential services. So no mystery shopping even if things are open.

Well, if the places we shop are open for business, they are considered essential. So, why would mystery shopping be frowned upon, but just getting food to eat wouldn't? They are open to keep our economy from crashing. I will shop if the places are open to shop, and the fee is right. I need the money.
I didn't say someone couldn't get away with mystery shopping during a shelter in place order, just that based on the orders it would not be considered essential. IMO, the panic about the economy crashing is akin to the toilet paper panic anyway. If people act responsibly the curve will be flattened and we will all get back to life as usual much more quickly.

Mystery shopping is not an essential service. It is non-essential. By going out, you risk people who ARE essential" Police, fire, utilities, etc. Go look it up. 16 sectors, and Mystery Shopping is not there.

You are far from alone. Considering what most earn from mystery shopping, you could spend your time finding out how to reduce your monthly payments temporarily. A friend who is usually up on these things said many banks, landlords and credit card companies are willing to suspend payments with no penalty for up to 90 days for those impacted. Utilities, including internet providers, are agreeing no one will be cut off either.

Well, if the place is open for business, Marketforce needs it shopped, and they give me the fees I want, Im shopping. I got 3 more shops today. If Im the only shopper working, then more money for me. Really, whats the difference between me shopping and regular customers when it comes to the stay at home order? There is no difference.

Because. it's. not. essential.

Mystery shopping is non essential. A list of essential jobs has already been posted by the federal government and your local governments and mystery shopping is not included. The only reason any stores are open at all is because people would starve to death without them.

Are you still falsifying reports? (from your post last year)

Unfortunately, I've found with MF if you report to many problems at one specific place repeatedly they don't like it. They prefer the glowing reviews. I will report problems if they are only minor. Anything major, I don't. I do this for the money, not for fun. I know its dishonest and not the reason the client is paying for this, but if I'm completely honest about a place with a failed shop, the consequence usually comes down on me, not the place I shopped. It's not right and it's not fair. It is unusual for places to completely fail a shop, so I rarely have to be dishonest, but it happens.

Are all you holier-than-thous shopping during this pandemic or am I the only one? I highly doubt that I am. I'd really like to know if the people who are TRYING to shame me are shopping now. So, are you? I can't believe that I am the only one.
You meant at it's worst...it's completely self-centered. But so is the typical American mentality.

I am NOT shopping and I am being bombarded with emails offering giant bonuses. Yes I need the money. But I am not endangering my life and the lives of others for a few hundred dollars. I would rather have my phone or electricity cut off than that. It wouldn't be the first time, anyway.

I enjoy awkward questions and uncomfortable silences. This gas station pavement is $%^@*#& hot.
HELL NO. I am not shopping. Not as a mystery shopper or a customer.

And I also took a leave of absence from my merchandising job (last Thursday was my last day until things calm down out there), which happens to be inside of a grocery store, so it is considered an essential business in the opinion of the company I work for and the government. My company issued me a letter to show in case I was pulled over on my way to work. But, in my opinion, merchandising is not essential business, since it involves resetting store shelves. Now if I were restocking food items inside of the store instead of just shuffling them around and adding in new items/removing discontinued, that would be different. I am not going to lose my job over it, but I damn sure am not going to risk my health or my family's health by going into a grocery store every day and possibly coming into contact with someone who is sick. Or, what if I happened to be an asymptomatic carrier and passed it on to the grocery store staff and their customers? SMH at you.

I'm not judging people for still shopping. Most of us need the money and it's not clear if we'll be able to collect unemployment for this. However, you're a fool if you think you have a good reason for it other than self preservation. You're not an essential employee and you're making the situation worse by going out in public. Public health officials are asking people to go to grocery stores "as little as possible." If you can order groceries online that's preferable. The only way this country can open back up in a reasonable time frame is if people stay home.
And MF rarely offers a bonus large enough to justify driving 30 miles during a shelter-in-place order. If you were on your way or from your regular job and wanted to do a drive thru food shop (and were absolutely broke with no food at home), well maybe.

I’m an essential employee providing essential services based on the 16 sectors.

I don’t falsify reports.

People who continue to shop with a shelter in place order ... well I’d get banned if I said what I thought about people like them. I think Darwin really said it all.
Because it’s very difficult to get a true and objective evaluation of a business that is operating in a reduced capacity during a national emergency. I would expect that most companies would suspend their mystery shopping programs right now. The employees who are working right now in those places are under some pretty heavy stress. I would not expect to get top-notch service. I work in food service and I am currently off because I’m a high-risk, so I am self isolated until this thing is resolved. My coworkers are dealing with some pretty insane crap right now. One of our locations had to close because customers were FIGHTING in line. People are insane, and it is not fair to the companies or the employees to evaluate service right now. We all need money, but we would also all like to live. So please stay home.
The only place that I have been since 3-17 is a trip to the Doctors. And the grocery store to get some more food. But still no damn toilet paper. Luckily I have enough for this month. But since everyone thinks that they are entitled to do what they want no matter who it kills. I would suggest that you find the news report where they tracked the spring breakers through a cell phone app that they were in Florida and then a week later where they were it boggles the mind to see how far they traveled. It really shows the six degrees of separation.
