I hope we get paid!

No one is missing the perspective. It doesn't take a Harvard education to know that $5000 is more than $500 or to figure out ho this hurts full time shopper more than part timers.

The issue is pissing on someone else's life because your situation is worse.
If it's worse, fine that's enough to say it's worse. No one doubts that. And we all hope you get your money just as much as everyone else
But don't belittle other posters because your life sucks worse than theirs.

While everybody want to get paid, I think there is a degree of difference between missing a payment that simply hurts, and a larger payment that could cripple someone if not paid. The amount just varies from person to person.

I'm owed a few thousand for something I never would have partaken in if not for it being shop, so I'm crossing my fingers that the money shows up in a few days. Would it break me if they stiffed me?...no, but it would sure sting a lot.

For anyone owed a few hundred dollars that would be broken by not receiving it, I have good news; There's probably a $1,200 check on the way to you, so that should cover you for a while...and many states are opening up their unemployment insurance to gig workers.

Same.

I did two hotels, around 25 jack in the box drive thrus, a dozen highly bonused gas stations, and a Dior purchase shop. I hope I get paid; if not, I’ll survive. I’ll definitely return the really expensive face cream if they’re not paying me though.
Of course there’s a difference in being owed a few hundred or a few thousand dollars! Also, our lives beyond mystery shopping come into play. In our household, both my husband and I are on furlough from our regular jobs, no sick pay, no work at home opportunities now or on the horizon. The money I’m owed for these outstanding shops will be the last income we see for a while. It is absolutely true that I shop for fun a lot of the time. I do not shop for free. I hope we ALL get paid for our work, whether it’s one job or a hundred!
I am owed a good sum totaling from small amounts done for all MS companies (tried to diversify) from February and hope they will slowly trickle in. (Hey, I got a nice ~$500 from Gapbuster so they are uptodate for payment) I purposely avoided doing anything major with anyone other than ISC, and Ipsos-Maritzcx this month as they are global multinationals with varied departments that I consider they will weather any financial storm. I did major routes and limited projects and got paid by both as I was owed thousands.
Customer Service Expert just paid me! (A few days earlier, got paid by a few other companies as well for February shops and HS Brands for some - though not all - of my January shops.)
This thread yields the question: Do MSCs get paid in advance for a shop, or do they bill the client once the actual expenses are known? In other words, might some MSCs have sent us for early March shops for clients that are now unable to pay their bills including the bill for shops already completed?

From my own personal knowledge the MSC's bill the client AFTER the report is accepted and then they pay. The MSC's could very well pay shoppers and then not be paid by the client, thus causing them financial distress.
Considering the fact that several national restaurant chains are not paying their rents... let’s hope they pay the MSC :/

People worried about a few hundred $$$ when full timers like me are owed thousands ($5k personally). SMDH

Your reimbursement is no more important than anyone else's just because you're full time. A couple of hundred dollars can have as much power to break some peoples finances as $5k could to you. I hope that you, and everyone else, gets their money back.

No offense but I think you have a poor understanding of the situation. For starters that's not reimbursement that's all shop fees.

Hey bgriffin, no I understand the situation fully. Regardless of whether it's reimbursement or shop fees, my issue was with the way the post implied peoples hundreds of dollars weren't as important because you're owed a higher amount. Before I started mystery shopping there were months that actually a $10 shop fee or getting my reimbursement back on time could have meant the difference between paying my rent or not. Luckily I'm not in that situation any more (others may be), but I've got about $350 in reimbursements to get back and it would still hurt a lot to not get these when expected. I just think that instead of dismissing other people's valid concerns we should all just be hopeful and supportive for each other smiling smiley

That said @LindaM, payment from the client being received (or not) does not alleviate the debt owed to us from the MSC's. SBA loans will be available for any company that wants to the do the right thing if they are short on funds, but want to pay their contractors and stay in business after this subsides.

Any who don't, or fall back on the, "My client has not paid me" excuse should be named IMHO.
Agreed Steve. Also key is communication. I’d have a lot of sympathy for an MSC that proactively explained that payments would be delayed while its loan is processed and kept shoppers apprised on the timeline. We should use this outlet to name the good, the bad, and the ugly.
From looking at the Maritz legacy site, it appears that they will be paying tomorrow for all gas station assignments done though 3/17. I'm not sure if it's all their clients, but certainly the blue one. 3/17 is the date that the client suspended the program. For once, I'm glad to have almost all of my eggs in one basket!
So far, I've been paid by everybody... smiling smiley

Clear paid me today for my shop done 2/12.

They paid me this morning too. They were the one company that owed me a significant amount that I wasn't worried about in the slightest though.

Yesterday and today I got paid what I need to get by for the next few months, even though I won't be working outside of the home. Thank goodness a few project managers found some at home assignments I can do. But, I am stocked up and won't be spending any money, other than getting my car registration taken care of and some minor grocery shopping (fresh produce in a week or so). Phew! Sending out positive thoughts to the rest of you that you get what you need to get by.
Back to the main topic...

ACL came through, as expected. Servimer DD was actually more than expected (my error, which they corrected in my favor) and right on time. SQM cheque is in the mail. Ath should be here any day now. Incoming rents are stable as one housemate is a teacher, so working from home(and at full salary and benefits) and the other is on SSDI, which arrives like clockwork.

With the transfer of power from MartizCX to Ipsos I got a payment issued on March 30, 2020 with promise from Larry Loos, Senior Account Manager of another one coming on April 15
I did an apartment shop for Grace-Hill/Training Factor on 3/4. I emailed the contact listed on Gigspot to inquire about payments. I was told it would be within their standard 60 days. We shall see.
Sometimes the reversals take a while but I did one earlier this month, which was reversed within days. The pay of course will take closer to 90 days, but the reversal was done faster than usual.
I received a payment from Ipsos/Maritz yesterday, so put that one on the list of companies still making payments.
Ath Power direct deposit, as expected.

I received an encouraging email from Daniel Price and Scott Hiller of Customer Impact a few days ago advising that they plan to fully pay for all shops completed as well as providing reassurance that they will be there for us and clients going forward.

Customer Impact has always been a solid stand up company. I especially hope they weather the storm.
Still waiting for my last payment from Sales Quality Group. It is only a couple of days late so have my fingers crossed.
SQM has a detailed message on its website stating that payments will be processed as normal but may be delayed due to the office being closed.

As has been stated elsewhere Superior Customer Solutions has not paid for January or February shops and GBW is also behind. Problems with SCS and GBW would not be a shock even in normal times as any reader DataQuest paid for February shops right on time. They have not sent any of the "Dear Shopper" messages that other MSCs have sent explaining that shops are on hiatus, but as they have multiple revenue streams and are very reliable I'm not worried. LRA paid right on time and I very much doubt they'll have any issues given the size of their parent company.
I’ve been paid by Alta360, Service Sense, Confero, Kinesis, Intel360, Dynamic Advantage, and TrendSource so far.

Now waiting on HS Brands Intl.
Sales Quality Group is closed and they do not know when or if there will be any payment for shops completed.

I've been paid by Clear, Ipsos/Maritz, and Business Observations since mystery shopping basically ended. I also have an outstanding completed shop from HS Brands Intn'l, and I have no doubt they will pay. 2-3 months is a normal wait time for payments from them. I have not done shops for any other companies during this time.
