Thinking about all the MSCs trying to survive

Eventually, when we can all move around and shop clients again, we will be depending on the infrastructure that was in place to still be there.

We can expect a number of clients to delay restarting their programs, some if not many may cancel them indefinitely. Small business loans are going to be based on a company's likelihood to qualify to convert to a grant, which right now is causing a major challenge for the banks to assess.

There will be clients that lose their businesses as well.

The unemployment rate, I am currently in that boat, will be significantly higher. That means many more people looking for gigs.

I'd estimate it will be several years minimum until we see some semblance of what was. We will become grateful for, a return to, what we take for granted today - and complain about not being enough.

Just my opinion.

The world we live in right now is frightening. The world that comes next will be unbalanced, to say the least.

Ever hopeful, I signed up with another MSC today. There may or may not be work in my area in future, but at least I am positioned to find out about that. I will add other companies, too, as time permits. I also tried for another company, but all I could do was follow the trail from its inception through a merger to its current, defunct status.

As long as customers buy products and services, businesses will compete for those customers. As long as business compete, there will be a demand for mystery shoppers. I would guess that it will take weeks or months, but not years, to return to a semblance of what was.

Doubt it’ll be as soon as “weeks or months.” If there’s no budget with business getting themselves out of the hole from all this, the last thing most are worried about is adding MORE expenses like mystery shopping on their balance sheet.

Well, one way that some MSCs will stay afloat is by not paying their shoppers, cough, cough, Superior Customer Solutions.

Malls and small service businesses are closed. They can't provide online services. How will the survive with no income? Grocery stores and big boxes may end up okay. I am very curious about this ending.

Unsettling times for sure, and most certainly a continually evolving situation for a long time to come. I hope all are staying physically, financially, and emotionally healthy.
Mystery shopping will be an afterthought for a long time. Businesses are losing more and more the longer they force them to stay closed. Restaurants and hotels are taking a huge hit. Mystery shopping will take a LONG time coming back. I am thinking at least a year or two.
