I think they just do merchandising but I thought I would check for opinions here.

I signed up with them months ago, but was just contacted last Monday to complete some assignments in my area. The scheduler called me and explained the project. She said the deadline was March. 2nd, but to ignore that deadline since I would not even have my materials by that time.

I just received my materials via UPS this afternoon. She has not made any contact with me in that amount of time, but just now I check my email and had a quite harsh email from her titled "FINAL NOTICE" (um, no actually it is first notice) saying how I made a committment to her and it's a week past the due date and I have yet to complete any of my assignments.

For anyone with any experience with them, is this normal for them?

They are some of the worst bunch of Idiots I have dealth with in the past. I hope its not for a paint gun demo...:p

They have a long history of being in disarray. For a while they had a decals project. Shoppers with 50 location were being sent huge boxes of several thousand decals while shoppers with 500 locations were being sent a package of 20. Evidently there was a lot of duplication in assignments as shoppers were going to locations where the proprietors were incensed because they had put up with someone changing their decals a day or two previous. The only bright side is that folks seem to have gotten paid for their work--one way or another.

I did 2 jobs in December and have still not been paid. They emailed me last week with another assignment, and I emailed back and told them as soon as they pay me for December's assignments I would happily accept another job. No response.

Seems I remember when starting, I was registered and they had amusement parks, have not worked for them.

i did an assisgnment 3 months ago and just recieved payment for it after making numerous calls.A rep called me to do an assignment and when i informed her i hadnt been paid for it she got on the bandwagon and got me my check a week later.

yes i just recieved my check from march from them last month after calling and calling.lots of screw ups

Unfortunately many of the merchandising companies I've dealt with are quite flaky and disorganized. Actually I would say they are far worse then most of the mystery shop companies I've dealt with.

Just received an email for job in Magic Mtn in my town, went on site and nothing there, pay was 5.00, thanks, but no thanks. I thought they only did amusement park jobs.

Jobs are now handled by a scheuling Co. They must be getting desperate if they dug up my name, been registerd since I started MSing, but never worked for them or heard from them.

My experience has been placing advertisement on the security panels at the door at CVS stores. Takes about 15 minutes and pays $7.00. They have paid on time and I haven't had any troubles with them.

They said they are going to send me my packet in the meal today by fedex and they paying my upfront, is it a scan?

It probably is, because I don't think you would have been accepted as a mystery shopper if you signed up with a legitimate MS company. Your one sentence has 3 spelling errors and a grammar error. I'm not trying to be mean. Legitimate MS companies require good spelling and grammar.

It's rare for a shopper to receive anything from a MS company via Fedex. I assume your Fedex package will have a check inside. You are supposed to cash the check at your bank and keep around $250. Then you wire the rest of the money to the address listed in your package, using a company like Western Union. Your "shop" will be to evaluate the Western Union person.

SCAM SCAM SCAM!

They don't care about the shop. They will throw your evaluation away. All they care about is they found someone they can scam.

The scam company just picks a random MS company and uses their name. They send you a bogus check, but your bank will cash it because it looks like a real check. In about 6 weeks (yep, it takes that long), the bank will get information that it's a bad check, and they will deduct the entire amount of the bogus check from your bank account - the fee you kept plus what you sent via Western Union. Plus, to add insult to injury, the bank will charge you check-return fees. If you try to get the money back from Western Union, they will tell you the money is gone.

When you get the package, you can try taking it to the police or contacting a U.S. Postal Service Inspector. Or you can just tear the check up. When the company calls and asks if you cashed the check, you can tell them that you know it's a scam and hang up. If they call back, don't answer. Block their phone number. They may call you a few times from other numbers, but just hang up on them. The calls will stop after a while.

Dude, Greet America is a MERCHANDISING company. NO Mystery Shopping. They are a legitimate company that expects a lot for very little pay. I gave up on them after one job.

A few years back I did a promotional placement for them. The woman I dealt with was very reasonable. I took the assignment knowing I had a few weeks before I was having major surgery. I received my shipment with no issue but since this required me walking from store to store, I had a number of days when I couldn't do it because it rained. And rained. And rained. Then let up for a few days and I was close to being done. But then it rained. And rained. And rained.

I knew of a MSer in the area and asked her if she wanted to finish them but only after I emailed the scheduler and let her know I couldn't get the last 50 placed due to the weather. I asked her if she wanted me to find a replacement. When I got the approval, I got the replacement. No issues. I was paid on time for every one of the promotional products I'd placed.

I just checked out their web site for the first time. I am contemplating registering with them. They do have the following warning in red bold letters...

"** Please be aware that there is an email titled "Secret Evaluators" circulating and indicates an all expenses paid Mystery Shopping opportunity. This email is sent from various persons. This is a scam/fraud email and is not affiliated with Greet America in any way. Please always be cautious when sending confidential information in response to any email job. **"

I received the following e-mail. When I goggled Greet America, Inc. I found a lot of sites for ripoff and scam reports.
When I entered greetamerica.com I was taken to a Lockheed-Martin website. I have no desire to answer this e-mail. In fact I am going to add it to my Norton Anti-Spam list, which also sends a report to Symantec.

2. You need to "pretend" to be a normal potential customer who is looking for a particular service or product.
3. You will then finish an on-line questionnaire to share with us your customer experience.

Requirements:

1. 18 Years old or above.

1. You will get $200 for each assignment.
2. Most of the time you will only need to spend 20 minutes on the visit.
