GoSpotCheck

I recently took a quick survey from this company (added: I generally don't do this gratis, but I did have the time, so I took the survey). I said I would never recommend the app, because I can't get it to work. I explained that I'm a route shopper in rural areas without cell coverage.

To my utter surprise, I got a long, gracious, informative e-mail today. There was a detailed explanation of how to use the app under those circumstances.

If anyone is interested, I will post it.

It still won't work for me, because I am much, much further than 25 miles from my shops. But it might be useful for others.

Just let me know. And, can I cut and paste here from an e-mail?

Ask if they can expand the geo fence further than 25 miles on your account. It may be possible. I have had it done with other apps like that.
I'm interested, as I regularly do merchandising through GoSpotCheck and I might need to know this someday.

Thanks for responding to the survey we sent your way. We really appreciate your feedback and would love to learn a little more about your experience with GoSpotCheck.

I understand you might be having an issue with connectivity and I do have some instructions here with Offline Mode that might help!

Here some instructions on how to put your phone into Airplane Mode and hopefully avoid this headache in the future.

Open the app when you have a strong cell data / WiFi connection and are within 25 miles of an account you'll need to survey later that day.
Start a mission response for that account (Start a Mission Response). Be sure that all tasks have loaded.
Navigate to your "Settings" app on your device.
If on Android, tap "Network & Internet" then enable Airplane Mode. If on IOS, tap to enable Airplane Mode (setting should turn blue).
Drive to the account, where presumably there is no service.
Navigate to "My Activity" to find the started mission response (Understanding My Activity).
Fill out the mission response & submit at the account.
The mission should go into a "Waiting to Upload" status (Mission Status Icons).

When you are back in an area with cell data/WiFi, connect to the internet and find the response again in My Activity.
Mission response will submit automatically once a strong signal has been gained.

Please let us know if this is successful for you or if it hinders your workflow too much!

If you’d prefer to share your thoughts over the phone, we can be reached at 844-359-2503, please reference ticket #234205.

Thanks,

Ljiljana

Unfortunately, this did not work for me. At home, where I have wi-fi, I can't still even get the app to function.

(I'm hopeless, LOL)
Cease, if you hadn't done this, make sure you GET OUT OF Airplane Mode before you try getting back into WIFi. Maybe that will help.

LOL -- I don't even know how to get INTO airplane mode!

(Isn't there a GIF for "giggling hysterically"?)
