Kss gas shop payment question

Just wondering, for any of you that may have done a reveal audit at a gas station through kss...

I went to 2 locations, and at both locations the employee on duty basically turned me away and asked me to come.back at a later date when a manager would be there.

In my report, i stated that, and took pix of the location from across the street as i left.

My question is...
Am i still going to be paid for these audits?

You should be. In that case you have to report is as a closed location. They don't have a "Refused inspection" option on the questionnaire. Then you need to send an email with receipts attached, explanation and assignment number to get your reimbursements. Once you report it as closed, the form will not ask what you spent so there's no way to input expenses. There should be. Maybe some day. And don't forget to go back to the KSS site to submit the verification that you completed the shop.

I have no idea if you will be paid? You were 0 for 2? Not good.

In over 20 years, I have never had a gas station refuse an audit. I have had clerks asks, "What happens if I say No?" I tell them, I will write, "Clerk refused audit, and the corporate office will have to figure it out." I don't generally ask if I can do the audit. I inform them that I am there to do the audit. Very different.
You should be paid. The guidelines should state the procedure for refusals. Some want more than just an overall from across the street. And SoCalMama makes a good point. Never ask permission. (Not saying you did it this way, just making a general point.) Just tell them what you are going to do. They can still refuse permission, but are way less likely to do so. Those same clerks who feel giving permission is above their pay grade also will be hesitant to question your being there.
Probably.
However, they may see the 0-for-2 as odd and question it. Stations very, very rarely ever refuse these. In five years of doing it, thousands performed, I have had two refusals. The one refusal could happen. An 0-for-2 is going to be a red flag. Seems like you did what you needed to do.

No offense meant, but look at how things went, you're approach, etc. As others have said, you're not asking for permission, you are telling them you are there to do it. Suggest they call their manager if they hesitate. There will be some hesitation sometimes, but stay calm and they should come to their senses or make a call.

Just a reminder... Although KSS scheduled this, it is not KSS that pays you or even decides if you get paid. We are a third party scheduling company. It would be the mystery shop company that we schedule for that is responsible for payment.
Yeah. I hear what youre saying. But it wasnt actually 0-2. It was 2-6. So hopefully that wont look ad bad or suspect. Anyway, those numbers shoild only affect my likelihood of being scheduled. Its the company that hired kss ro do the shop that is supposed to pay, right?
You should be able to log right in, view your shop history, and see there. If not, feel free to email me. I'm not sure these were for the client I schedule, but I can forward to the appropriate scheduler if not.
Gotcha. Thanks. I can log in, but its kind of odd. When i do log in, it looks as if i still havent even started the shops, or even confirmed them. No big deal tho, i can email the scheduler directly. smiling smiley

I had one owner call me names and throw me off his property before I even went offered the LOA. He thought I was someone else and he saw my traffic vest (in the car) and came unglued. It didn't really matter, the station was closed because the electricity was out after a storm and I couldn't do the shop or the audit anyway.

Other than that, I've been doing the same gas stations for years, in CA and in AL. And I've only been turned away that one time. I introduce myself and I leave the LOA on the counter. Most of the employees pick it up and read it, or hand it to their manager. And ALL of them smile and wish me a pleasant day. The gas station owners are less happy about it, when they are working at the counter, some follow me around and try to clean things before I get to the next thing, but they invariably clean the wrong things and leave the trash cans overflowing and filthy.. lol.

IF they question me, I tell them it's simply a marketing audit, and if they have any questions they should call the 800 number on the LOA, or call their company representative. And then I walk out and start taking the outside pictures. No one has EVER stopped me after I've started taking pics.

Yikes. Thats terrible! Bothcof the shops that turned me away seemed worried or nervous. Tbey were night audits, around 9pm and the manager wasnt present at either site. The employees at each store called their managers who told them to send me away. I believe it happened because bith stores clearly had several violations.
By the way, for anyone interested or curious about the outcome of my situation...
I was paid finally!
