Alta360 Switch to PayPal

For years I got paid like clockwork on the last day of every month via direct deposit. Then in May the switched to PayPal because “we listened to YOU”. In the three months since the switch payments processing only once was I paid on the last day of the month. Last month it arrived on the second just after I contacted them. I was told it may take two or three days for the money to show up in your account. Well that SUCKS!

Please tell me why y’all prefer PayPal to Direct Deposit (assuming you have a bank account)? Because from where i sit it was a poor decision on Alta360’s part. The line that they put the money into PayPal on the last day of the month and it’s PayPal’s fault that I’m not getting paid as promised is completely unacceptable.

I agree. It's completely unacceptable. It's also untrue. Paypal does not "hold" any money before adding it to your account, so any money paid out is available immediately. This is also the third month that I have not been paid on time or correctly.
PayPal holds the money when you transfer it. That is why there is a fee for immediate transfers and not for standard.

I use PayPal as a very last resort. They made an error on my account with a return, affected my credit and ate all of my MS payments until it was fixed.

I don't mind either paypal or direct deposit. I have a slight preference of direct deposit as I don't have to transfer from paypal to my bank and I will see it in my bank before I see it go into paypal. What I think is nuts is any msc paying by check. I know there is one or two left.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
"PreyPal:" excellent name!

When I had my situation with them (https://www.mysteryshopforum.com/read/5/677613/page=1), they mowed through my account and ate everything. They were ruthless and at fault. I opt for direct deposit, check, prepaid debit card and then PayPal.

Sinclair would be one, and they're not exactly greased lightning in getting you the check. Most months, they're the last MSC to pay me, and by several days.

Secret Shopper is another, I'll be doing my first shop for them since pre-Covid later this week (in pre-Covid days they had 2 types of shops that were of interest to me, both disappeared for a while, one is back). If memory serves they are at least more prompt than Sinclair in sending the paper.

MSCs that claim that transfers are not immediate are either being disingenuous or dishonest. Transfers between PayPal accounts are immediate, if the MSC desires them to be so.

The reason why I prefer PayPal is that funds are immediately available. I don't have to worry about ACH delays or checks. The funds can immediately be spent either by PayPal payment or via the PayPal debit card. I also like that PayPal notifies me of immediately of payment receipt by e-mail. I just wished that they charged lower fees for converting currencies.

Sure, ACH payments are fine. But rather than receiving funds into a bank account and then transferring them to my PayPal account, I can receive ACH payments directly into my PayPal account. I just give the MSCs the appropriate routing and account numbers.
Ugh...didn't want to start a new thread, but Alta30 is killing me today...when they did dd, the money was there first thing in the morning...now, not only are we two days late (from their own deadline), but the PayPal $$ hasn't been pushed out. Of course, on the day I really needed them to be on time, lol
I prefer Paypal. I don't want a bunch of companies having my bank account info.
So many with different attention to security. What if their shopper site is hacked? It's bad enough they have the SS number under a hacking situation, but SS number AND bank account number? I avoid it when I can.
