Beyond Hello

is getting on my last nerve this morning.

I do high $ shops for them-get 10s and "your effort is superior".

I do anything $15 or less, it gets returned, even when I go through their guidelines bullet point by bullet point to reach a decision on Exceeds vs Met Expectations. If the client misses the bullets on Exceeds, they get a Met and I go to great lengths to explain what was missed, making it only a Met.

They're getting as bad as Intelli for lame reviewing.

They get a little rough on their coffee house (only in CA), and my favorite coffee. They want blood in the report, that's all. I do their upscale retail and their consignment shops and get a 10, coffee shops, only an 8...go figure They have 80% glasses which I don't do.

Live consciously....
Yep, just got the 8. Love the e-mail:

"An 8 is a good evaluation that required some corrections to be made or additional information to be requested or there were errors in the way the shop was performed"

There were no corrections, there was no additional information added and there were no shop errors noted.

I think I am done with BH. Too much work and annoyance for too little money on small shops.
Moral of story--avoid their cheap shops. It sounds like the junior editors get the cheap shops and need to earn their wings by 'being tough and diligent'.
Welcome to the club, but think twice about giving them up...a different scheduler can make the difference. The coffee shop I mentioned above I know like the back of my hand, really don't know what more they want, except to keep shopper thinking they should improve!

Live consciously....
If the shop is fresh, upon request, some schedulers will ask the editors for more specific information on the grade. In general, I find the schedulers very nice and communicative.

As for editors, they definitely have some new ones. The notes on my most recent 10s have been much more wordy than the "superior" one I've gotten in the past.
I got 9s on my last two shops with them. Both of these shops were for the same client with two stores in the same mall that I did on the same day. The rub was this: the associates that helped me in both stores had the same name (a very common one around these parts), which I thought was a funny coincidence. With the limited description of the sales person that's allowed, they also looked similar on paper. I got an email back from the editor asking me to check my notes because I must have mixed up the name on one of the shops. I let them know that indeed they had the same name and that they looked "similar." So I got dinged a point on each...Ouch.
That could easily happen around here, too. Did you write the scheduler to explain? They sometimes will change a grade given by an editor.

Oh, absolutely! You should definitely write. IMO, there is a difference between "more information" and an editor wanting to clarify what was written and reported correctly. I think I had a grade changed once from BH, and I KNOW I did from Bare.

That said, one of the things I often find myself utilizing on BH shops is the box at the bottom of the form, where you can relay extra information to the editors. In this case, for both shops, I would have written something like, "Please note that I did another location on (date) for the same client, and both associates had the same name. This is not a reporting error."

Personally, I really like it when companies include that ability, and have utilized that option with other MSCs as well.

Bare is very good about reviewing evaluations for fairness when requested, yes! There are inexperienced and/or overzealous editors just as there are shoppers. The best companies realize this and amend unfair ratings.
The Bare one was funny -- well actually, not really! 2 point deductions, and a note that said something like, "Shopper, please answer question 14A."

Uh, there WAS no question 14A!
Thanks for the feedback guys. In retrospect, I should have used the box at the bottom of the form. I should have known that since I thought it was funny, they would think it was odd or wrong. Live and learn... I have always found the schedulers to be helpful, so I'll give it a shot!
kgfields73, I honestly think it's still worth a shot, and that you should contact the scheduler. You did NOT make a mistake with the report, and you really should not have been penalized because the editor thought you probably did.

And even re: the box at the bottom, they don't state that it's a requirement to write in case there MIGHT be something confusing. I'm just very cautious, so I often do!
I have two shops for Beyond Hello that did not get 10. For both of those, it was the same situation. I HAD the information in the report, but they just wanted to make sure it was correct as I had reported (it was) and then I get the 2 point deduction since they had to contact me for what was already there. That has happened to me once with Intelli too.
Thanks nicely. I'll let you know what happens!

I also had that happen with Intelli and it infuriated me. I did everything right, but they thought something "might" have been done wrong, so they contacted me. I got back to them within minutes of receiving the email, and still they deducted two points "because we had to contact you." No, you CHOSE to contact me to check on something, but you didn't HAVE to and what I had down was absolutely correct! Those kinds of deductions are ridiculous and unreasonable, and I would simply stop working for them if I didn't love how easy the shops are for the pay. So, I guess in this case, I choose to put up with their snide remarks and deductions.

When I've had deductions for things like that and let the scheduler know, they've changed the grade when they saw what happened. It never hurts to ask!
