Deloitte: Has Anyone Worked With Them?

I know a handful of consultants who work for Big Four Accounting firms, and one of them mentioned to me in passing that Deloitte, a member of the Big Four, has a Mystery Shopping Division headquartered in London-Moscow.

Anyone know about this? Looks pretty cool. And Deloitte pays its employees VERY well, just saying...

I had the great pleasure of shopping a large facility for Deloitte's LRA division pre-Covid. I was recruited by an independent scheduler. There are a few older threads here about LRA. It was by far the best shopping experience I've had in terms of shop reliability, pay, and MSC communication.
For many years I did 12 large 1 day routes shops per year as a member of a small team ot ICs that seldom added new members. It was IT pay and only worthwhile because each route was 18-25 shops at one location and reimbursed parking and a lot of small purchases. Deloitte owned that MSC. Shoppers who were employees of Deloitte had to have a LOT of industry-specific training and employment experience . IF you are a former manager in a specialty hospitality industry, for instance, you MIGHT qualify to get a 1040 job with Deloitte's arm that "shops" that industry. No management experience in the shopped industry, no 1040 Deloitte job in said industry.

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
Deloitte subcontracted a MSC I work for, B Business Solutions, to do a hotel mystery shop ages ago. They created a separate portal for the deloitte shops on Sassie but AFAIK the program never progressed beyond that point. I don't recall the pay or the mystery shop instructions being any different from normal (though that company, BBS, has relatively well-paying mystery shops for relatively little work on the forms, in my opinion).

Same. Their contract was not renewed in CA a couple of years back. So sad too. That was good $.
Deloitte was an awesome company to work for on a twice monthly route...the project was put on hold because of stupid Covid!
Deloitte’s contract was a great for many years. The consultants treated us shoppers like professionals, as something I thought I’d expect when I first started mystery shopping many years ago. These guys are literally the few that treated me like a professional, as opposed to just a shopper.

Sadly, COVID hit last year and well... Even the main consultant got laid off as well sadly and even left the industry altogether.

I did find some contract positions I ended up applying for that actually matches the stuff I currently do for a living (project engineering / management) at Deloitte outside of mystery shopping, so you never know if they give me a shot and finally transition out of oil and gas.

I have never worked for their MSC Division. They are a wonderful company to work for. As an employer, they are none to be surpassed in my opinion. I wish you much luck with your applications and hope you get hired. :-)

Tarantado, if you don't mind my asking, is it either Bob or Alex who has moved to a different industry? They were both great to work with, but I can't blame them for wanting a new and more promising opportunity.

Alex. Bob’s still working as far as I know.

Alex was so responsive and helpful. I'm sure his skills will carry him far in whatever industry he transitions to.
Bob has left as well. They both were great, and I know that they will be successful in their new endeavors.

Wow, that’s huge then. I wonder how LRA’s staying afloat then. Alex and Bob were basically the main ties and their client ending their program basically sounds like that division’s closing up shop unless more work is on the horizon.

Such a shame. I was recently in the facility I used to shop for LRA. Probably less than 20% of the stores were open. One large strip of stores I used to shop had been repurposed for a Covid rapid testing site! If the mystery shopping program was part of the contract between LRA's client and the facility, it could well have been permanently exempted from whatever new contract was negotiated in the wake of the pandemic and won't be coming back even has the Covid situation improves. (I hope I'm wrong about that, as I'd go back to shopping this project within seconds if asked.)
