Freeman Group Solutions

I have read how slow they are on paying, but not until after I did a shop. The first shop I have ever done. I have kept all my paperwork. We are going on 11 weeks now.

They offered $40 to do the shop. My paperwork all shows it, however, sometime after a month that I submitted it, they changed the fee amount to $20 in my profile and completed shops.

Anyone had this happened before?

I would contact them about the discrepancy immediately. If you have the information by email, forward that email with your concerns stated. If you only have hard copy paperwork showing the price, scan and attach it. I have never known them to be crooks, only sloths, so I suspect it is a goof and you don't want to be paid half in week 12 and get to wait another 12 weeks for the other half.
I agree with Flash. They are slow, but there is no evidence of knavery, unlike some other MSCs.

I am starting to see more "I got paid!" messages about Freeman around the 'net. Perhaps they are catching up... That would be good because they have so many hotel shops on route to either of our parents places.
Yes, I am as well. And payment without needing to beg. I'm still perturbed by 12 weeks as some of the shops require substantial out-of-pocket and that is money I can't be recycling to make more money on a faster turn around.
Is the only way to sign up with Freeman Group by sending an email stating you interest? I could not find a form on their website...
Has anyone received payment recently? I've got a couple of shops and I'm now nearing 13-14 week mark on them. Is there anyone to contact regarding payment besides the generic email? They don't seem to want to answer. I'm not upset about not getting paid yet, I just want an update on payment.
But why even bother to sign for this company that screws shoppers with diliberate slow payments and makes every excuse to try justifying their disgusting behavior ????

It boggles the mind that they continue to sign on new shoppers..ask Goodwin how they like waiitng for payment from their own vendors. LOL

I was just getting ready to register with them because they had a place I wanted to visit. After reading all of the information here on payment issues, I cannot afford to put out that kind of money and not get it back for such a long time. This is a great site and I am glad that I found it. I wish you all the best and hope you eventually get your money you are so deserving of. Thanks again.
I'd just like to clarify that I don't mind waiting for payment, since as Flash says they do pay (eventually) and they are convenient at times.
If you need to contact them, here is the info:

I've never not gotten paid... they just take a while to get payment out. The shops are so very easy to do, so if you're on a road trip and need a place to stay overnight, it's a great option. If you were going to spend the money on a motel, anyways, you might as well do one and just get that nice "surprise" in your Paypal account a few months later!

Whenever I see a company with a long pay cycle or one that is not paying in a timely fashion, I approach the shop with caution. The real question becomes "How badly would I be hurt if I NEVER got paid or reimbursed." When a company goes "BOOM!!", like Checkup Marketing appears to have done, with no forewarning, we realize how poorly capitalized many of the "companies" are that we work with. It will be a test of the moral character of the owner of Checkup whether he gets his shoppers paid, but he may as well close his doors. Freeman would appear to be making good on their promise of payment in 12 weeks, but we can feel sure there are still financial issues at play there and the company could improve or return to the abyss. The list of troubled companies got longer as the recession hit and worsened and few seem to be emerging yet. There is still much too much that could go wrong for a lot of small and undercapitalized companies we work with to be comfortable that in the 90 days between work and payment something won't go terribly wrong for them and leave us out our pay and reimbursements.
My compliments to Arch, Dett, Flash, Heart & Steve; you've all made valid points that so define "to each his/her own." Both Goodwin and Freeman have offered me easy work for top pay, BUT, I simply don't have any desire to chase my money and I've refused both companies.
Flash, I'm with you.

A key to not put yourself at risk is to "recycle" money for big reimbursement-only shops:

Start small, doing shops where you would conduct business anyway, or that require no upfront load of your cash. Take those small fees and reimbursements and pool them together. Use the pool for future reimbursements, and build up a stash. Your household budget does not have to be touched for hotels and restaurants so if it takes a long time for payment you are out "recycled" money for a while. Before the kids came along, we would take weekend trips with our gas, meals, and hotel taken care of. It just took a while to fill the pot.
Yes, it is definitely what I refer to as the "Shop Kitty". But even then, slow payments means that money cannot be recycling to make more money and no payment means the "Kitty" needs to be refilled to work. When I look at $200 out of the kitty for 3 months and realize that it could be turned at least twice on multiple other jobs during that same time period, it puts the fee and benefit in a different perspective.
It sure does. I kept my reimbursement fund separate from my fees, at least philosophically. Doing more than one shop for Freeman at a time can certainly tie up things.

On another note, people get riled up about companies that pay in 60 days like clockwork. Sure, those first couple of months without the pay sucks, but if you do regular shops with one or more of those slow-but-sure payers, you will have money coming in every month, though some of the money was from a shop long ago. (Intellishop comes to mind.)
Well.... now waiting over 13 weeks from the second shop I did. I keep getting they are looking into it with no answer on estimated payment. Their paper work now says that it is 8-12 weeks from when they process it. Not from the shop... leaves it kinda ambiguous. Also the email I received from them said they are moving??

We are moving to Sassie! To register, follow the link below:

They have had shops on both the Prophet system and SASSIE for some time, so that is not a new cause of concern.
I am Still waiting for payment of the five shops I did back in April and May. Called and left a message amd mailed, but no response. I am patient, but this is for the birds. Any particular person I should talk to? Did they change personal. I have done shops for them before and their payments were late, but not this late. And I would always get some type of response from them?
After being burned for 5 months... they sent me a possible hotel debranding assignment.....

I carefully researched the hotel/motel ("First"winking smiley and the ratings were HORRIBLE, with BUGS in the beds, cockroaches in multiple reports, weird stains on the beds, broken locks, people entering wrong room, hairs and nasty things in the toilet bowl...

I think reading that, it just "cured" me of ever wanting to get burned again by them, no matter how much they bonus a De-branding Hotel...."shudder".......

Yepper. I will try a few more times. In the 8 years I have been shopping (almost full time) I have only been burned by one other company, and that was Pacific Research. I think they finally went out of business. Looks like this is close for Freeman. Get too many bad comments, nobody will work for them eventually, and I will certainly keep posting bad comments........
You know you don't actually have to stay overnight for those? I have done them - gone and checked in, looked for everything I needed for the assignment and left.

Does Freeman only do the really cheap motels? I did a Freeman assignment for a motel and it was absolutely disgusting...dark hallways, questionable stains on the bedspread, dirty sheets and hair in the tub.

Every assignment I've seen for Freeman has involved very seedy motels.
I called and left Amy another message this morning. She just contacted me and told me she had sent my payment info. to accounting and should let me know when it was going to be paid in a couple of days. Keep you all posted........??
