Albatross Global Solutions

I just signed up for this company that claims they do 'high end shops' - though the pay is not high end. Has anyone worked for them before? Their online platform is very weak.

I am signed up with them but, they have never had jobs in my area.

Shopping Arkansas, Louisiana, & Mississippi.
They are a company that has had opportunities worldwide. Yes they use Shopmetrics for reporting. Many of their clients are at the high end of the retail spectrum.

Philadelphia Based, covering Eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, Maryland
Yeah, I don't get dressed up for $30. If you can actually afford anything in those stores, you don't need $30 anyway.
Several years ago, they offered me $10 to visit a store and inquire about a $5000 Rolex; I passed.
I have done a few mid-to upscale retail locations for them. Easy forms and got free clothes and make-up. Would shop for them again if there was more local availabiliy.
They have as clients a lot of upscale and luxury brands around the world. The platform is Shopmetrics, and sometimes you hsve to wait for a shop to be assigned after applying. Pay ranges from $20 to $45 for in person shops, a bit less for phone or virtual. Good company.

I have done a handful of jobs for them over the years. The pay was fair for the shops I did. I did high end watch and a diamond brand for them. They pay was 2 weeks or faster sometimes as little as 3 days. I like this company. Right now they have some shops in Toronto Canada. For obvious reasons I can't do those. I would not hesitate to do shops for them again in the future if they arose.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
A few years ago I did some small-town Jewelry store mystery shops for them. The two locations were somewhat remote, and I was able to negotiate $75 each. I had originally asked for $100 each, (I try to aim high to create a starting point for negotiations.) The contact was extremely nice and said, "Honestly, we have never paid $100 for a shop before that I can remember, but we usually; don't have remote locations like this. Let me look into it." We settled on $75 each. The reports were fine, and I was paid quickly. I would work for them again, but they have not had many opportunities in my area since then.

LOL Well I can assure you that is NOT true.
I suspected so. I have learned to generally never believe what a scheduler says about past pay. There might be one or two that I would believe because we have a very long and honest relationship. But in most cases, I am not surprised with your comment.

Maybe THAT scheduler has never see $100 but I can assure you, it used to happen for me very frequently. I think they’ve been through some management and ownership changes in the last couple of years though. I did some pretty incredible assignments for them back in the day.
I don't remember the pre pandemic fees but I am seeing some $20 shops at high end stores now. I seem to recall they were always $30 to 40 before. $20 is not enough to hang out in the high end store and try to remember if the three people who helped me mentioned x, y and z. The few shops I have done for them I am the lone customer so I have had both or all three salespersons coming over to talk.
I'm trying to sign up with this company, but not only do they want my PayPal address, they're asking for my bank account number. Why would they need this if I'm specifying PP as my payment method? I'm a bit reluctant to give this out to a company I've never worked with before.

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!
I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.
I use a throwaway bank account; then, after doing a couple of jobs, I will go into the profile and change it to my regular bank. Not really a throwaway account, but I only keep a few bucks in as there is no charge for it.
I've done quite a bit of work for them over the years. Better when you can stack multiple shops in the same area. I typically make $150 to $200 per day hitting two or three of their projects in one place.

That's a great idea! I just opened a Woodforest account for a shop, and there's not much in it. So I can use that one. Thanks!

Woodforest will eat you alive with fees. I opened one for a shop and and when I tried to close it after the specified period of time they were trying to charge me. I had to get the project manager involved to get the account closed without losing a big chunk of my deposit. I would be very careful about keeping this account open longer than you need to. By far, the worst bank I've ever dealt with!
I had another account with them a few years ago but ended up closing it. I never had any fees, probably because I had the free "senior" account. Kept it for a number of years, but closed it when I didn't have enough in it to bother keeping it open. I'm keeping this one open long enough to do the phone and/or teller shops, but they never seem to have teller shops in my area. Supposedly this round of account-opening shops has some associated phone shops, but I haven't seen them! I'll keep an eye on this, though, in case they try to hit me with "surprise" fees.

I've done reimbursement-only assignments for them where I've gotten $100 in product, like clothes and makeup. To me, its worth it because I like the products. Everyone has a different niche.
