Strategic Reflections

Strategic Reflections- I'm a new shopper for this company, and still haven't received a check for July shops. Is it normal for them to be so late with payments?

Shops completed in July would not be processed for payment until August 27-30. Given the gutting of USPS sorting equipment, the reduction in overtime, and staffing problems, it is quite possible that the "Check is in the mail." Just wait a bit and see if it really is so.

I did a job for them on 7/26/2021 and have yet to be paid. Yes, they ARE late according to their own payment schedule. Come on Strategic Reflections, you owe me $30!
They owe me $62 for July, $123 for August, and $31 for September- $216 in all. I'm not doing any more shops for them until they pay.
According to my log, I completed my first assignment for SR in April of 2009. Since that month, I have added an additional 639 jobs and I have always been paid. I also checked the completion dates. Spanning 12+ years, I was paid in from 41 to 66 days. Considering that shops are completed throughout a month, in my experience, a 27 day spread between the earliest and latest in not at all unusual in this business. I would not hesitate to accept work, that met my criteria, from SR.
They use to do a grocery store in my area. I did lots of them and always got paid. They are a good company. I miss the grocery store shops.
Something is strange. I can't even bring up my pay statements, they've ignored my request for a shop, and I didn't get any shop available emails today. I usually get several per day.
Jones,

For past work and to see jobs completed, but not as yet paid, click My Settings; it is near the top of your page. Next, choose IC Compensation History. If it does not appear, there is definitely a problem.

As to being ignored, one applies for work and it is either assigned or not; that is business.

Finally, I do not recall the last occasion when I received a notice of available work from SR. If you receive any, you must be privileged,

I've been sent lists of grocery stores in my area from SR. When the fees go up, because no one will take a certain shop, I get emails asking if I would please consider doing it. The IC does display, but there's no indication that checks went out on the statements.
I just received an email saying the checks for July audits were mailed Friday. That's the way they do things. They always let you know when the check is in the mail. Yes, they still send paper checks.

Yes, but the processing was supposed to be finished by 08/31/2021. No explanation nor apology for taking an incredible 10 days to take the checks to the post office. Very sloppy. The head of the AP department ought be fired.
If I remember correctly the checks never went out immediatly after processing. They always send out an email when they are mailed.

Per the agreement they begin processing on the 31st.

15. Free-lance Market Researcher compensation checks are paid by Strategic Reflections, Inc. and begin processing 31st day of the next month following submission of an assignment.

The Disbursement Policy states something different.

Strategic Reflections pays via check. The payroll department begins processing paychecks around the 27th – 30th of each month for all shops completed the previous month. For example, any shops completed in February will begin processing approximately March 27th – 30th after the client has approved all shops for the prior month. An email will be sent when the checks are mailed.

It doesn't state when checks will be sent. And it states processing begins, not ends the 27th to 30th.

OK. But, I still think my original observation of "sloppy" still is correct. No reason that processing ought take more than a few hours.
Yes, SR pays late, compared to other MSCs....they do pay per their scheduled timeline, but, in comparison, their payroll is pretty late.
Just did a few shops for them in over a year. Forgot how slow-paying they are but they do pay eventually.
The sole purpose of this post is to clarify that a reputable MSC, SR, is, in a business sense, neither late nor slow. If any company pays according to their schedule, while they may not pay as rapidly as a person desires, that does not classify them as tardy. I have received in excess of 100 checks from SR and do not recall any being slow or late. I scanned my log and all work was paid in from 42 to 71 days. That, considering the ease of the reports, the accessibility, variety of desirable shops, no requirement of a guest in dining and a wider window to complete, is quite acceptable to me. If, though, those points are not important to you, merely pass on SR.
