The Source Scheduling Changes

This is the first time registering for a project with The Source. I received an email with details about the shop stating it is to be completed 10/19-10/20 and was assigned the shop. I just logged into my account and noticed that the dates now say 10/22-10/23. I wasn't notified of this change. Is this common for The Source? My mom also does mystery shopping and she told me about a time with The Source when she completed the shop and was in the middle of completing the survey when she received an email that they canceled the shop. She was able to have them open the survey again so she could finish it and get paid, but she was upset that they waited until the date it was due to notify her of a cancellation. I'm just wondering if this is a recurring theme with this company.

if it’s for grocery, what happens is either the shop before yours is not filled, the person before you did not complete the shop in time, or they needed an extended due date. there is then a required 2 day waiting period before the next shop from a new/different shopper (you). while it’s not common, it seems these last two weeks have been odd, scheduling wise, with new schedulers on the project.
Several years ago, I was scheduled to complete a shop for Trendsource that was not a grocery. They cancelled the work, but only after I had departed for the day. At first, they declined to pay me, but I appealed and won. Years later, they refused to pay me for a job where I had picture proof the business had vacated the building, stating the client claimed the location was still open. That was the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back and I immediately fired them.
Just had three grocery shops rescheduled. You can drop them. I anticipated this occurring because the shops have a weekly rotation. Also with these grocery shops, a shopper cannot do two shops in a row. I was signed up for a location I had done two weeks earlier, but it was cancelled since the previous weeks shop had not been completed. They're strict on the rotations, and couldn't give me an excepton.

Do not read so much, look about you and think of what you see there.

I posted a bit on another thread and thought I had imagined this. Now, thanks to info here, I can believe that the shop date changed for reason or reasons mentioned here. I feel better now. That happened in summery month, so it was merely inconvenient. I now need to re-think my applications for those shops for the next few wintry months in my world. If I base my application date upon available weather predictions and get bumped to a new date when weather would make it inadvisable or impossible to go to the location, it would be problematic. It could work in my favor, if the weather prediction was off by a few days, or something... but it is still a crap shoot.. eany, meany, miney mo, must I stay or can I go... what will the scheduler do or say... when learning of the actual facts of scheduled shop day...

This is a fast food shop so I'm not sure if the same rotation rules apply.

I took the fast food shop when it first came out. It had a date of 10/1 to 10/22. I then noticed they changed the date to 10/4 to 10/5. I contacted them and told them i couldnt do ut those dates and they changed the dates for me. It is now dues the 21st or 22nd.
I sent a message about my shop, but never received a response. The status of the message on my account says awaiting response. However, I went to my project and now the due date is 10/20-10/22. So I guess they saw my message....? But they still didn't answer me back? I'm just afraid to do it tonight and find out that the date changed AGAIN when I go to do the report...
I had this happen to me recently but thought it was my error. I generally complete shops on my PC at home (within 2 hours). Went to complete the report that I had put on it calendar to discover the date was different. Until I read this thread I thought I had scheduled the wrong date. Since it was a local store I was able to do it again on the new date. Not a big loss as I needed the groceries. In the future will always now check the date the morning of my shop. Still not a good practice of TS to not notify us of date changes.
I find it unfortunate when it happens. I can often accommodate the change, but not always. They've never dinged me when I've dropped a shop where they changed the date.

The biggest problem is when I've grouped some further away locations together for one date, then only one or two of them change dates. A few times I've been successful asking them to then change the date for all of the grouped locations.

In my experience, they try hard to work with us on scheduling.

It happens regularly. They used to send an email asking if you can handle the changes, and doing what they can to accommodate you if you can't. But, a couple years ago things changed. That's when I quit working for them.
Normally, they send out email notification. Check your email and see if it went into the wrong folder.
Ugh, this just happened with me. They want to reschedule a grocery shop that I scheduled for this Saturday. I scheduled this weeks ago! I cannot reschedule it because it's in a town not close to me. I specifically made a route using this shop. This is not the first time they've done this to me. So frustrating.
@Phoebe, I understand completely. In the 5.37 warmer months here, it is not such a big deal and I can work with different dates and experience more or less manageable disruptions in all schedules. In the winter, there are so many road closures that I have to nail down my distant shop dates based upon weather forecasts and hope for an open road. This is no one's fault. It is just a fact of "here" and as long as they are okay with this, I am okay with the occasional floating shop date.
