Marketforce phone calls

Why do they call and then try to undercut the pay that is posted for the job on their website? I am so very tired of being woken up in the morning so they can try to cheat me out of money.

Sorry, I was pissed off because the guy who almost didn't speak english tried to convince me to take half of the current pay for a fast casual shop while I was still 3/4 asleep. They were supposed to note not to call me before noon because I am a day sleeper. apparently their cold call schedulers don't read the notes.

The foreign schedulers have told me that they cannot see the pay that is listed on the website, and they have to follow the script to get good scores.
I told about the same. They often offer me the pay that is smaller than I can pick from the board without their assistance.

Shopping Eastern Pennsylvania since 2009
I often check the board to see what the shop is being offered for while on the phone with them. I'll mention if it's higher than their current offer. After telling me they can't see that information, they'll (almost always) offer to match it. I chuckle as I tell them that if I had wanted it for that price, I'd have already assigned it. Sometimes they offer more; sometimes I take the shop and sometimes I don't.
I don't take their calls any longer. Time is money and they were costing me time and aggravation.

Evaluating and mailing packages since 1994
My experience is similar to HoomanShopper. They would offer $1 or $2 more after I told them what was listed on the site. I stopped taking GA calls but I saw a call from Ohio today and answered. So now they got an Ohio number for me to not answer. It was for a sit-down restaurant that started at $0 fee $25 reimbursement, then went to $5 fee on site. She offered me $15 but that still would not cover a meal for 2, and she wanted it shopped today, New Year Eve.

I ditto the above. Received a call from them about 8:30 PM my time on New Years Eve.
All these years I've done my best to remain polite to the folks that call, I know that they are independent contractors like us and just trying to make some money. But, they stopped honoring my request to not call in the morning, when I am asleep. And then they ask you to take the jobs for less than even the base pay on the website. For the first time I said, "no" and just turned off the phone.
I guess thats why they start and end by thanking me for taking their call. I still answer now and then.
So many of them are working their way out of generations of poverty; this job is a big deal to them. I thank them for calling and am gentle with my refusals when they are needed.
