Ellis EPMS

I forgot how long the reports were. Why do they take 10 hours to complete for a measly $40?

I am taking 6 of these one day this week but the bonuses are insane. It still is going to really suck and I plan on taking a whole day off to write them even though they are video. Yeah..... still a long report for video. Makes no sense.
I do the nonrecorded/nonvideo reports in 2 hours. One hour if I have no distractions. What kind of reports are you doing?

I could do those long narrative shops in an hour if I didn't stare at the screen on the computer for so long trying to find ways to say the same thing over and over and over again with different words. lol
I only do the phone only shops. I have learned which types of calls have the shorter reports and I am sticking to only really doing one type of shop for them. I don't do the virtual visits with calls so I don't get the bonuses though. Stupid unreliable Internet.
I hate their entire online experience.

But I will gladly do video shops if the bonus takes the pay to over $100.

For a couple of hours' work that is fair pay.
Is that the total time you spend going to and from the property, doing the shop, and writing the report?

As much as I dislike the owner/scheduler of remington I'd rather do one of those than ellis. Ellis reports are super long and repetitive. I type about 85 wpm and it still takes me hours to do the reports. Not counting the time it takes to go to the apartment's website, play phone roulette with the target or front desk associate that wants to police the leasing office...tours take at least 30 minutes, an hour on average because every new building has a pool, gym, yoga studio, pet grooming salon, multi-floor amenities and they have to show you at least three apartments.

I'm really complaining but they should be ashamed requiring all that work for a measly $40. Bonus shops are worth the hassle but sometimes they'll cancel the shop and process it as a phone shop. Then expect you to write a full phone report for $5.
I'm just amazed that anyone could get one of these done (schedule appointment, get to and from site, download and review recording, and write the report) in only two hours.
Several years ago, I cancelled my contract with Ellis. I had completed a shop for a new client, but after 31 days was informed I had visited the wrong location and would not be paid. As I knew that was not correct, I appealed but their decision stood. At the time of my cancellation, I had completed almost 200 assignments for the MSC, with my only objection being reports that were the epitome of repetition.

Do you see shops for Remmington? I have been a long time member of their sassie site and I just remembered because you mentioned it that I have never gotten an email about shops. There were none in a 900 mile radius. Honestly just looking for the most local work possible.
I saw some on jobslinger EOQ last year. I don't work with them anymore so I haven't paid attention to any recent listings.
The report only, not including the follow up.

Looks like they have some available again

They now have many shops in many states posted, each for a fair fee.
They have some terrible business practices that I want to warn you all about. The first incident is when I had a confirmed appointment and drove 2 hours for a well-paying shop. I booked the appointment but was not put on the calendar of the leasing agent on that day. When I got there, she was busy doing a tour and had another tour after that; therefore, I could not do the shop. Thank goodness I had created a route and got some money for the long drive. EPMS would not pay me anything, even though they have the recorded call with my appointment being confirmed. I saw in the notes that the reason I did not get a partial payment was that the client suspected I was a shopper. They NEVER said that to me one time... I gave them one more chance and did another local shop with them. This is a new client and the leasing agent and property manager both said they had just taken over management of this property about a month ago. When I asked for a business card or other POV, they did not have any because this was a new property for them and they had not received them yet. So, I asked them to write their contact info on some paper, which is what a seasoned shopper would always do, and most companies will accept that. EPMS kept saying upload back up documentation over and over again after I clearly explained this situation to them in the report and via emails. What didn't they understand? They asked if I took a picture of a property sign, no I did not and that was not in any guidelines that I read. I got the contact and rental requirements written on a piece of paper and I knew 3 employees names and jobs. They just said they will accept my report, but my pay is deducted in half. WHAT??? How is it my fault their client didn't have business cards, price sheets, or a floor plan? This company is very shady. They wouldn't pay my friend for a video shop because she forgot to do the phone call. However, in my case I followed all of their guidelines and they are still stealing my money for services I rendered to them, which they are getting paid for. I am going to contact the Labor Department of my state and in Texas and file complaints and will never work for them again. They just lost a good video shopper.
