Remington Evaluations

Either I searched incorrectly or there have not been threads dealing with this MSC.

Before I submit an application, I have a few questions:

1-Do their shops require a target?
2-Do their shops require a recorded telephone call?
3-My bottom line is $60. What is their average?

This week, I decided that, after many years, I was no longer interested in chasing targets and/or playing tag with phone calls so it can be recorded. In reading their website, they require a detailed report, an invoice and payment is by check. All are acceptable to me, but only if the remuneration is commensurate with the pay.

Are you reading my mind? I just asked earlier today about them. The thing is I am signed up but cant see any shops within a 900 mile radius. That might mean I am not even signed up correctly. I am hoping someone chimes in and explains whats up with this company.
shopperbob, their shops require a target. Remington will give you the target's schedule. The phone call is recorded and has to be transcribed in the report. The base pay is $40 with bonuses.

Thank you Honey B, that eliminates me. I was being paid $40 in 2005; that amount would certainly not interest me 17 years later. Especially not when there is both a target and recorded phone call. Add in the requirement of submitting an invoice and payment by check and my fee would be far greater than what they would pay.
Honny, I would consider this in desperate times because I know "bonuses" is a subjective term anyway. I have done quite a few jobs for EPMS for $185 each. With that being said it all still sounds like a large hassle depending on this said bonus. Do you know if they actually currently have shops? I just cant seem to be finding any no matter the distance I put.
I haven't seen any of their jobs on jobslinger since late last year. They are a shall msc. Although they require a lot of work its not difficult to complete.

In terms of report writing, I prefered their requirements over ellis. I stopped shopping for them because of their long payments terms. The owner paid me late and was less than apologetic plus i didn't like their constant emails. ????

Surprisingly, ACL has the most pleasant apartment shops ime but they only have me client in my area and you can only shop them once.

Has anyone done the Remington apartment shops lately? I assigned one but there appeared to be several manuals to review that I couldn't even see on the guidelines. I'm waiting to hear back from a scheduler.
Although I have not done one in a few years, I occasionally see these shops. They are mostly in the Mid-Atlantic (MD/DC/VA) area. The owner lives in VA. I think she runs RE mostly by herself. She used to.

Shops used to be priced well for the apt. industry, $65 when shopper was MSPA gold-certified and submitted a completed shop (that didn't need to be returned for any reason) within 12 hours. If you don't fit that description, then the fee was $50 or $55.

Shoppers need to provide a step-by-step account of the on-site visit and the recorded phone call. Although details are, as always, most important, reports need to be seriously well-written.
Writing reports for Remington is a pain. I've written dissertations that were less onerous than RE's requirements.
This was my first time signing up with Remington Evaluations. It was a terrible experience and I ended up deactivating my profile from system. My shops were accepted by Andrea, and when I emailed her I received an email the next day from Sarah Leeke who informed me that Andrea is no longer with the company. Then when I had a question about a shop Sarah never responded to any of my emails. I waited 36 hours before deciding to deactivate my account. I've never had a Scheduler not respond. I looked up the company Remington evaluations and saw that Sarah was the President, the Scheduler, the Editor and does Billing. She also wrote in the description that "if you did not receive your payment after 6 weeks to resend a new invoice." She does not use PayPal, FYI. These are red flags. As an experienced mystery shopper of many years and member of MSPA, I do NOT recommend Remington Evaluations.
