ACL Is Using PayPal

Hopefully, this will mean quicker payments.

I don't see any mention of this on their website nor did I get a notice. Perhaps it is a limited trial?
That is great news! I've never not been paid for a CL shop, but sometimes the checks seem to arrive a little late. Not sure if the post office or mailing date.
This could impact your income taxes because I understand that Pay pal will be reporting your money. You would have to keep a detailed list of those items that are fees and those that are reimbursements that are not taxable..

Regardless of how income is paid or whether it is reported - by the MSC or by PayPal - to the IRS one must report income. And it is the responsibility of every shopper to maintain detailed records in every event.

I went to input a shop and before I could do so, I got a pop up asking to verify my PayPal information.

I figured it out. Shops designated as "Fast Pay," are paid via PayPal, supposedly in 7 days. The majority of shops are still paid by check towards the end of the month following completion.
I got paid today for shops I did last week. A fee is deducted for using PayPal.

Ugh.

Did you contact ACL about the fee?

I have not contacted them yet. I am interested to know if I can opt out of PP and default to a monthly check.

The fee looks to be 0.05%.

I received a message from ACL regarding the PayPal fee. Shopper payment is increased by the fee amount. When it is deducted by PayPal, shoppers net the full payment.

much better!

Based in MD, near DC
Shopping from the Carolinas to New York
Have video cam; will travel

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
I have to believe that an electronic transaction fee has to be less than the cost of postage, printing a check, paper & envelope costs, and stuffing the envelope (although I'm guessing that process is automated by now).

I also find it interesting that at least ACL let shoppers know there was a fee involved in the Paypal transaction. Some of us have become accustomed to just receiving payment through Paypal without thinking about the fee since we've just been paid in full.
This was the first time I saw a fee to use Pay Pal from an MSC.

This used to happen a lot in the early days of paypal payments. Individual ms companies had to figure out how to keep their paypal fees from being billed to the recipient. They figured it out, which is why many shoppers today have never seen it.
I saw a fee from another MSC. It wasn't deducted. Maybe PayPal is being transparent now that the have to report to the IRS?
