Negotiating Fees with Ipsos

I’ve been told that IPSOS structures client agreements so that a certain percentage of all national locations is due on the Due Date/EOQ. It’s never absolutely 100%, usually more like 90-95%. There are bonuses tied to the percentage completed by EOQ. And there’s overrun into the next month; a lot of moving parts on those contracts.

So, if you’re negotiating and suddenly get “ghosted,” IPSOS most likely hit their target number, even though there may still be unfinished locations.

Most of the independent schedulers for ipsos are responsive and upfront about what's going on. Some not so much.

There is still money to be made. You just have to be in the right place at the right time and doing locations that are up against a hard deadline. There are a couple of gas brands that are about to have to pay out the wazoo if they plan on getting an acceptable percentage of them but done. You just have to be in the area where they are still available. In the areas that I shop, both of these brands are scheduled by some of the good schedulers.
What's a wazoo amount in your area? Schedulers increase the bonus in small, $5 increments which takes forever to get to an acceptable fee for an out of the way place which I am willing to to do for a fair price.
Many locations in my region are going to go for between 50 to 100 dollars. Maybe even more depending upon how close we get to the deadline. The most I've ever gotten for either of these projects is $125.

These are negotiated fees. They're not likely to go over 40 or $50 on the job board.

I agree with right place right time. I got a $125 bonus for a Pegasus station EOQ 2021 and numerous $60 bonus shops for Seashell EOQ 1.....
There are still a handful of Q1 mollusk exoskeleton shops out there that are at about $100 on the job board and could probably be negotiated up to 150 or more in my experience. You just have to be in some very remote areas.

Certainly not within 200 miles of me.. Cant really trust the Jeep to go further than that..
I’ve seen some United Kingdom Hydrocarbon shops paying $125 in the Midwest. Same for the Golden Pecten.

Anyone keeping track? I am now. Another requested increase of $15 not accepted by ipsos.
If you could indicate, in a roundabout way, which gas brand you were talking about, that might be helpful in figuring out if they are up against a deadline yet or not.

One thing I've noticed is that there are some locations where they have a shopper that would be willing to do a location at base pay, or for a small bonus. But they would not be willing to drive even 60 miles to make 300 bucks. It just depends on whether the location you are asking for is one that usually goes for a lot or usually goes for a little. For example, there's a shopper that lives in Garden City Kansas that will do shops there at close to base pay or for small bonuses. But when shops in Dodge City Kansas are paying $50 each, and there's six of them or more, they're not willing to make the drive. Therefore, I can get big bonuses in Dodge city, but asking for bonuses and garden City is kind of pointless. That's just an example.

It would also depend on if it's a monthly location or a quarterly location. If it's a quarterly location, we're at the beginning of the shopping quarter and they are not going to add anything to them right now.

If they are monthly, it's about time for them to start getting them scheduled. The bonus is going to quickly increase on the website. I think they're going to want to get the bonus up to at least $15 to see how many get grabbed off the board. Then you should be able to get bonuses on locations that are left. It's going to depend on what the history of each location was. Again, it all depends on whether or not the locations are quarterly or monthly.
I am thinking maybe this company just isn't a good match for me.
Now I am in a war of words with a scheduler because I wanted to know why I can't switch job options. I did the one with a gazillion photos the guidelines asked for then the survey asked for 1. sad smiley
They replied I can wait 6 months and then apply for the other or they can switch me now but I cannot do any shops at the location I did for 6 months. I can't mention the options here right?
I'm guessing you are trying to switch from Image to Customer first. That has been a client rule for years and years, even when the programs were with MaritzCX. You have to pick one or the other and the client requires no mixing at all.
Customer first is what they call the mystery shops. Image is what they call the announced, scheduled audits.
STARS, IMAGE, CUSTOMER 1st, retail oil. They allow a shopper to do only one. This eliminates so many seasoned shoppers plus means their shopper pool is diminished.
Although I rarely do Stars audits because they are a pain in the buttocks, I have been able to do them in addition to image shops. I have never done a customer first.
I am about to place Ipsos on the 10' pole list. I asked the scheduler 7 questions about a shop which are not in the guidelines. Mainly, terminology, such as "rolling thimble intensifiers." Her response, did I read the guidelines? I responded, yes, twice, but never heard back for clarity. Winged it the best I could on the shop. sad smiley
