Coyle's $4 "PRODUCT OBSERVATION AND PURCHASE INSPECTION" shops

The title kinda says it all. Has anyone done these? I have no interest, I won't even do a phone shop for $4.

Update -- just looked at the shop finally and it appears you have to look for a particular brand and there is an up to $14.95 reimbursement IF you find the item at the store. But if you don't, it's just $4.

I use a lot of the app based platforms for quick cheap shops. They’re abusive and sometimes have you do 20-30 minutes for $6 but it’s nice to stack a bunch at the same venues.

Costco has about a dozen such things to do. You can earn like $12 just to photograph 3 displays up front. But then you can search for 20 minutes for something else and get $0.

As far as Coyle -I wouldn’t do this because I don’t want to product.

Again -Costco- right now you can get $4 AND a couple cases of paper towels. Free!
I am totally in agreement with you @MisterBill. If they reimbursed an item that cost $50 (i.e., nice dinner), I would not perform a shop and fill out a report for $4. I would rather enjoy the shopping trip and not have to think about reporting on it when I got home. I have received emails about these shops but I deleted them as soon as I saw the remuneration amount.

In defense of the above statement, and just to be completely honest, I would fill out a $4 report if the reimbursement was for something substantial such as - oh I don’t know - a new car, a new house, or perhaps even a new living room suite. They would have to cover the taxes though… :-D

Where are the Costco jobs? The only thing I see on Field Agent is beer (not at Costco).

I’m finding with Field Agent that a lot more opportunities opened up after I did some stuff with them.

First I did the Roman Pizza Guy
Then I did that again
Then I did the beer thing
Then I did some other random stuff
Now I can see a lot more stuff

I have never successfully done the scavenger hunt stuff or any of those UPC SKU search things. Wasted a lot of time. The audits are smooth.

Do the Ticket jobs

But yeah start doing some things that aren’t worth doing and then you’ll start to get offers that are worth doing

Thanks for the info. Be careful about posting the client AND the mystery shopping company.

I thought it was a deodorant. Now that you’ve informed me, I will consider these as a super quick stop in while doing an app based shop.

This really isn't a mystery shop, so I don't know that the posting of the brand is a major deal.

The only way I could see doing this shop is if you're going to be there anyway, or even better, if you're there and see that they have the item, then take it and perform the shop immediately.

I searched the CVS website for the brand in question, hoping to find out if the store near me that has the shop carries it, but it isn't even found on the site.

There could be hiccups I guess, like long lines or having to summon a employee to check for the product if it’s not on the shelf (you will have to indicate on report).
Is that only if there is a space for it on the shelf and it's not there, or if you can't find it at all? Do all stores actually carry it?
