Initial Analysis of New Ipsos Gas Station

Sometimes, I cross my fingers and "hope" for a strong connection when uploading ALL of those photos..... one at a time. With a bad connection, like I have at my home, it takes up to two minutes to load a single photo, so, y'all can do the math.,...a shop with infractions takes a lonnnnnng time to enter. I have resigned myself to entering them all from the road, and just "hope" for a strong connection.

Salisbury, if you could find a library along your route or at the end, they usually have strong public wifi systems for lightening-speed uploads. Even small libraries. You could use the phone, tablet or laptop. You can even plug in to their electricity and enjoy their a/c, heat and quietness. ALL FOR FREE!!!!
It took 6 days for my four shops to get edited. I received a nine on all four of them, and I did not get any feedback as to why I got at 9 as opposed to a 10. These were not particularly difficult, so I am disappointed that I did not get a 10. I wish they would have let me know why I got a nine so I can correct it in the future.

I did four. I got 10 on 3 of them, but they didn't like my pictures of the canopy on the last one so they gave me an 8 instead. But they did say in the email that Ipsos is taking over officially in July.
You might count it as lucky that they didn't tell you why you got 9's. I didn't do any of this brand but did some other gas stations for the same company last week. Got a 10, four 9's, and an 8 for six shops on the same day. I emailed every editor except the one that gave me a 10. One editor said I was too white glove (8), another said I missed some grime (so I wasn't white glove enough - two 9's), and apparently now you are supposed to blur the faces for the required employee and self-photos (all editors that replied). Still haven't heard from the other two editors but I think I'm more confused now than I would have been if I'd never emailed them grinning smiley

Well I used to frequently have the same editor on the same report say I was too white glove and that I missed dirt and grime.
I’m guessing they’ve been told that the scores are too high since suddenly editors that gave me almost all 10’s are giving me 8’s and so on, with explanation from some of them but not all. If we’re regular shoppers who have done hundreds or thousands and they suddenly lower the ratings and don’t give a reason, then it doesn’t seem to serve much purpose other than to put us down. Lower pay and lower ratings. Then there are always the new editors deducting for silly things, or deducting three points for a small item etc.

I got a SEVEN on another brand for missing “ONE infraction” but the editor didn’t say what infraction, and when I wrote back I got the reply that they can’t give detailed feedback and to watch the Fred video on ratings. Pretty sure the Fred video (haven’t watched it in ages) says that an 8 means one major error or several minor ones or something like that. Missing one infraction isn’t even “major” and I received a seven. Anyway, like I said they seem to be lowering ratings for no good reason and also lowering fees. And almost every editor says why the rating is what it is, especially if it’s lower than a 9.
In the old days, with the old MSC, every so often, I would receive an Email regarding my performance in the inspection of a gas station.
It would read something like this (paraphrasing): "a previous shopper found multiple instances of violations that you did not find. This is to inform you that you could be removed from the program if this continues".
The first time I received the notice, I was alarmed enough to place a call to the MSC. An older gentleman answered the call and I explained why I was calling. He told me that the MSC would send out these Emails as a matter of keeping the shopper on their toes. He did check my "debriefs" and found that although I was reporting that my time spent at the site was minimal (20 minutes typically), the report was satisfactory. So not to worry.
After that explanation, I went on my way. But one thing I did was expand my time spent at the site.

As for the current ratings, my opinion is, they are entirely subjective, much like the rating a shopper gives for the site. But, if I give a site a rating of a 5 or less, I do explain in the comment section why my rating was at the lower end of the scale.

Did they return the evaluation to you? I got a 7 on one - that video says that if a survey is ever returned, 7 is as high as your score can go. I left a face visible, survey was returned with the demand to “Crop out the face” and that made anything higher than 7 impossible. sad smiley

First of all, I’ve gotten 10’s after having a report returned.
But no, it wasn’t returned. She said there was one infraction that I missed but that she can’t tell me what it is. Totally ridiculous. She spent as much time typing “you missed 1 infraction” as she would, “you missed graffiti on pump 1” or whatever.

Yeah that’s pretty bad - I wonder if it would help if enough people copied the general mailbox or scheduler (ha!) on some of these inquiries to editors that receive asinine replies. There is no reason for an editor to be secretive and not tell the meaning behind a score unless they don’t have a reason (except maybe to even out a curve).
I just watched that video 2 nights ago because I got a 7 for the first time the other day; it said that if a report is ever returned to you, 7 is as high as you can get. I guess that is up to the editor also.

I don't remember specifically if it was Ipsos or not. But I have gotten 10 on shops that were returned to me. And it wasn't very long ago.

I must have got the editor that memorized the Fred video...
