Presto messages - does anyone find them useful?

Trying to figure out if I'm alone here, but I cannot stand the :messages' that appear on my presto map now. They come way too often, for shops way too far away, I don't take the time to go through and close them out and so they just pile up and look like the inbox of my nightmares.

I delete them every couple days.

I was too, but then got bothered by wasting my time on the same messages over and over. I wish they would do away with it. The whole point of the presto app is to make it a quick way to find things on a map, not to get an email from something 20 miles away.
I have not done a "presto" shop. I do use the map when I'm going to be traveling somewhere and want to see all the SASSIE job postings in 1 area rather than looking at each company. I know that does not give me all the shops in a given area, but it at least gives me an idea for what is available thru Sassie companies.

Does Shopmetrics have something similar or do you have to go to each company individually to see what is available?

As far as the OP, maybe I am not getting these messages. I don't see them or maybe I set it up so I'm not notified? I do get an email (maybe daily) with presto listings.

20 miles? Your entire range is just 20 miles? If the limit of my range was 20 miles today, I would have the opportunity to do 4 shops total, for the entire quarter. When my Jeep isn't working right which is most of the time, my range goes out to about 50 miles because the closest town with shoppable stores is 30 miles. And when everything works right on the Jeep, I extend my range out to about 80 miles. But then again I did my time living in the city, that ain't happening again.
I host my own URL and use Gmail as my mail back end. I'm set up with rules where the usual repetitive emails get trashed based on specific keywords/phrases in quotes, so when my MS phone vibrates I know it's something I should check.

Presto is an awesome tool I only started using religiously 3 months ago, while being a shopper beginning five years ago. What would make it better is the option of turning off the messages.
Use the website instead of the app. I never get messages.
