Ipsos is a fraud!!!

There are an awful lot of bored (usually retired) people here who perform 1-2 shops a week (if that) and play Mystery Shop Expert and Internet Detective here in the forum the other 39 hours of the week. It’s a little clique of about a dozen continuous posters who REALLY do need hobbies.

Sorry about that. Ignore them. Those kind of people are the ones who make experienced, professional evaluators leave this board. I hope one of us can help you.

Just asking if anyone knows of a place to file a complaint? Not asking for comments other than that. Or if you have a similar experience please post. There were several posts in the past about how bad ipsos is. Search it

Please only use one username, not the multiple ones you are using on this thread. That can help.
As someone who has done mystery shops for a long time, you would understand that the tone of a clerk can impact a customer's response. If the clerk has an argumentative tone, than the customer isn't going to rate the service highly and see them as approachable.

You're tone has been confrontational from the start, hence the response.
Your main complaint seems to be the shops were not paid, and you were given no reason. I posted an email address earlier where you can escalate one level higher. I used it once in a similar circumstance, where a shop was rejected and no reason ever give. They did look into it and told me why. Not saying it will necessarily work for you, but it is the logical next step and probably more productive.

1. The OP stated that their shops ($500
worth) were not rejected, but instead were accepted (and they posted a copy/paste of one of the acceptance emails) and then suddenly the acceptance was withdrawn and the completed shops removed without explanation.

Not at all the same situation, where you made an error leading to rejection. Read carefully next time.

2. The generic IPSOS email address you put up is basically worthless. It’s rarely answered.
Yes I have emails that the shops were all accepted then rejected a few hours later. It has nothing to do with me or how I performed them as they were accepted then unaccepted. These were all multiple choice shops. No comments. The client is not att. That was the location. The client is a brand of cell phone who just checks up on what stores say about their product.
And if people think I’m the only one complaining about ipsos. That’s not even close to true. They have to be the most complained about company that disregards pay. I just googled ipsos not paying and several complains popped up. 4 just on this forum.
Here’s some of the tiles and dates in those posts:
There is one from delayed payments on 3/15/22
“Ipsos not paying!” 9/1/21
“Ipsos beware!” 5:12/17
“Ipsos not paying” 1/9/19
And I will be filing a better business bureau complaint. Thank you. I found the office is 515 congress avenue, Austin Texas 78701.
I’m assuming this is the correct office?
Yes. I have all my emails saying they were accepted. I have all my assigned emails from the shops removed with no notice. Who do I email to complain to?
Diana paone is the one who rejected them after being accepted giving no reason.

I will send you the VP of Mystery Shopping’s email address by private message. I don’t want it hanging out here in public.

I will ask you to please be super professional with her when you correspond. You are educated and understand the protocol, yes?

I’m 99% sure that someone on IPSOS messed this up. They either put shops up on Presto that were prematurely released, had the wrong scenarios, or were edited incorrectly. That’s on them. Not on you.

Check your DMs. And come here and report when you get your $500 paid. You owe me a virtual beer.
:-)
I posted a link to the BBB in an earlier post - I think you will need to use the NY location as this is their US base. I placed that same link below. They usually do not help with recouping your money, but at least you will be on record if you decide to pursue another avenue. It probably costs more to hire a lawyer than you would gain, unfortunately. I hope you are able to find resolution to your situation.

How do you send a private message here? I’m getting ads popping up all over. It’s hard to navigate and read everything

You should see a little indicator dot on your profile that shows you’ve got a private message.

You will also get an email notifying you that there’s a private message. Click the link. The email notification sometimes takes a while.

Some removed without notice, others accepted then rejected. Read carefully.

The generic email address may often be worthless, but to not even try and then malign the msc for nonresponsiveness undermines the case. And it actually did work for me, so it might work for the OP despite your own lack of success.

I’ve been doing this long enough to know the difference between submitted and accepted. I’d upload you a photo to show it was accepted then rejected by Diana Paone with no explaination. mystery2me never claimed it was the same situation. She said "a similar circumstance." You are also assuming IPSOS rejected her shop because she made an error. IPSOS rejected one of my shops once without explanation and was not going to pay me. I emailed IPSOS to find out why and it turned out the editor assumed I did something wrong when I had said nothing of the sort in my report. IPSOS reversed its decision and paid me. The editor assumed I erred. You assumed mystery2me erred. You know what assuming makes that editor and you, right?

As for you saying that address is basically worthless, that's your take on it but it has obviously worked for other shoppers (such as mystery2me).

If you are referring to Carey Medina, she's an SVP, not a VP. Sure, just give her email address to a shopper you don't know who has posted the way the OP did in this thread. I'm sure Carey would love that.

I agree with you on this.

I personally think there is more to this than meets the eye ????‍♂️

I’ve done a crapload of shops for Ipsos, on all platforms. Recently, I’ve had some editors hassle me, but overall they have been reliable and the shops are easy.
Oh boy this thread has become a hot mess. If what OP is posting is true, then that sucks. Hopefully they can get some resolution. Everyone else that shops with IPSOS regularly knows how good/reliable they are. This OP opinions are not going to change my work for IPSOS. They are one of the quicker paying companies.

In the end...it's probably a mistake I can understand why OP would be upset, but cooler heads will prevail. Hopefully OP will figure out a way to reach the "higher up" person or someone in charge and get resolution.

My biggest complaint with IPSOS is that they suck at communication. They have not responded to Sassie "contact us" emails. They probably have way too many shops/clients and not enough resources and do not want to spend what little time they have going back and forth with shoppers in email.
@Buzz…

You’re the one who name-dropped an IPSOS exec in a public forum, not me. Not an intelligent nor an internet savvy thing to do. Although it’s what I’d expect from you.

Now anyone who reads this thread, or Googles IPSOS will have the name. Kinda dumb on your part.

I posted here, years ago, furious because I was owed nearly $2500 from a bum video mystery shopping company. I used strong language. I had a check in a FedEx envelope on my porch two days later. It works, sometimes, to be a bit vehement.

I have empathy for shoppers who get screwed over; they get doubly screwed when they come here looking for help.

It’s the same tired clique of frequent forum flyers who jump on them. The moldy oldies who can’t seem to actually DO the work, buy/use a smartphone, work a digital camera, have reliable cars, etc. but sure have a LOT of opinions about everything. You people don’t even read the OP’s posts carefully, you see an opportunity for drama in your dull lives and jump to eviscerate one of your fellow shoppers.

Shame on you.

Edited to add:

I came here almost a decade ago with a rookie question about video shopping; I got the same bullying treatment. Not a big deal, I’m pretty tough and can take it.

However, I’ve mentored a handful of women and taught them how to perform both written and video shops; two of them also were bullied by the clique here for making simple errors. One of those women was recently widowed, one lost a son to suicide - and your little group viciously attacked them. They could have used the activity and the income, but you scared and intimidated them away.

I still remember how terribly you all treated a man who posted here after his wife died; he was looking for a way to contact his wife’s business associates and cancel her work, and it was a free for all for you. I’ve never seen anything so callous and cruel.

Get a life. Get a hobby. Stop bullying new members.

Wowza.

I have been reading this thread as health permits. I did not think anything could be worse than what I had, but this thread has gone the way of my ailment. It spews. It blows the other way. It makes my skin crawl. It makes me break out in hives, and rashes, and scalded skin, even. Bleh.

In case I was delirious, will someone please let me know if I have gleaned anything?

Did the OP report that they completed assigned work, submitted completed surveys, and reasonably expect to be paid for this work? Did the OP report that their surveys/work were accepted and that shortly thereafter, someone from IPSOS notified the OP that the OP would not be paid after all?

Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished. - Lao-Tzu
This is silly. I’m extremely down on Ipsos right now but your complaints don’t seem legitimate. Yes they did pay late and yes I was upset they sent out an update and then didn’t send another one, but it’s not “fraud.” I’ve had a few shops rejected on presto where it was my fault for turning in the shop too late, and one where I was paid and then later they said it should have been rejected because I didn’t handle a closed location correctly. Otherwise, I’ve never had an issue with them rejecting a shop that met the guidelines. And one late payment per year is understandable even while it was upsetting.

@Jmkid wrote:

Oh and does no one remember a few months back when they didn’t pay on time?
They sent out message saying they were paying late and then still didn’t pay on the day they said they were going to. Gave no one any update on what was going on

Anyone can do an internet search at any time and find out who is in charge of Ipsos's MS program in the U.S. without already knowing her name. Carey's identity is not a secret. For crying out loud, her name and title are in press releases. Anyone who has been paying attention to the News & Events section of Ipsos's U.S. page would know who she is already. So would anyone who is a subscriber to their YouTube channel. There is nothing wrong with identifying her on a mystery shopping forum.

Your offer to give someone's email address to someone else is neither intelligent nor professional. If you actually had a good relationship with whichever big boss you were referring to, the more intelligent and professional thing than sharing their email without their consent would be to ask for their consent.

This was not the first time you put down other shoppers and acted like you were better than them. You talked down to mystery2me when she was just trying to help and provided an email address that worked for her. Of all the posters in this thread that you seem to have a problem with, why go after someone who did not belittle the OP at all and provided a helpful answer?

Is there bullying on this forum? Yes. Take a good look in the mirror.

Yes, it’s a funny thing: I absolutely do elevate my behavior above those who behave as if they can relentlessly pick apart those who come here looking for help. I try to help and get new shoppers going, especially video shoppers. I will absolutely go to bat for a shopper in distress. If you cliquish people are going to try to bully someone with a genuine problem, damn sure I’ll push you people right back.

Again: Shame on you. And the rest of your little clique.

Oh, and speaking of “mirrors:” I’ve seen several of the members of your little group in-person, at a few conferences. I’ve seen the yellow, missing teeth some of you have. The scraggly hair, broken glasses, and thrift store clothing. The morbid obesity. You may attempt to play “bigshot” here on an Internet forum, claim you’re “famous,” but let me tell you: you appear to be every bit as unemployable and unprofessional in person as you do here on the forum.

Kate?

Sometime, if you have a free moment, you could stop by my job at a small university. You will be amazed at how many employees have the straggly hair, are morbidly obese, and are no longer able to have natural or artificial teeth. I have never seen any of them pretending to be famous. I have seen many of them shopping at thrift and consignment stores. They can do good in the community at these stores. Do you still hate them?

Shop,

I’m not answering your posts here any more. I toggled you off, because your too-frequent posts about your oozing, contagious body rash make me nauseous.

I’m just not going to subject myself to any more of that grossness.
You might be getting the point.

So you dislike my graphic posts. Most people should abhor them. But you will subject the rest of us to your oozing isms, Fatist, Dental issueist. Hairist, Thruft, frugality, or other reasons for using thrift storesist. Illnessist, You just hate people.

p.s. In real life, is your name Karen?
