Grace-Hill; Legit?

Hello,
Not sure I'm in the right place here, but just curious...Is Grace Hill a legitimate company? They're asking for my credit card because they say that's how they pay us. Any experience with this? Just trying to be cautious. Thank you.

They seem to be legit. I am also signed up with them. BUT use your head. Maybe someone is impersonating them?
Hmmm, how would they pay to your credit card? That seems odd. I would ask if there is an alternate method (paypal, check, direct deposit) for people who may not have credit cards.
I have seen the name for many years but they had nothing in my area. However this absolutely sounds like a scammer using their name. No legit shopping company has ever asked me for a credit card number. That just doesn't even make sense. Don't.
Grace Hill **IS** legit, but there are SO MANY SCAMMERS out there who are trying to come across as legit mystery shopping companies. In the 17 years I have been mystery shopping, and with the 125+ or so companies I am signed up with, I have **NEVER** had any mystery shopping company ask me for my credit card number!!!! PLEASE do NOT give them that information!!!
I know PayPal rules have changed recently and some mystery shopping companies have gone to other payment methods. But I have yet to hear of a mystery shopping company that wants to put money on your credit card. That definitely sounds like a scam to me.

And, Gracehill is a real MSC. [gracehill.com]

Someone contacted you, but not the legitimate Grace Hill company. Asking for your credit card number in order to pay you is a sure sign of a scam. It is simply impossible for someone to pay you using your credit card number. I have done shops for Grace Hill. They pay using PayPal.

Did they contact you via email, text, or phone? If so it is more than likely a scam (99.99%). Did you click on the header to get the from information in the address header, and did it match one that you know is from them? I get a lot of PayPal scams And if they ask for any information from me, Then I delete the email.

Chiming in to confirm, yes, Grace Hill is legit, but they pay by Paypal. No legit MSC puts payments on your credit card. I do work for one company that pays on a reloadable debit card, but they set that up and have the card issued once you are onboarded and it is not connected to my credit in any way.
They do mainly apartment shops in my area, in person and phone calls. I believe they are all either video or audio recorded in my area.
I completed a non-targeted, non-recorded apartment shop for them this week. The report was reasonable.

Sounds hokey. They can pay you through PayPal. I wouldn’t give anyone my credit card number.
Just to be clear, everyone agrees that the OP described a scam. No one is able to pay you through your credit card. The OP was not contacted by the real Grace-Hill company. The real Grace-Hill company is legitimate.

Grace Hill is a legitimate company specializing in property management. The Shadow Agency schedules the shops for them. We NEVER ask for a credit card so I'm concerned that someone is using their name as part of a scam. The website you went to would be helpful in reporting this. Grace Hill shops can be found on Gigspot or by registering at [thetrainingfactor.shopmetrics.com]. Please also visit www.theshadowagency.com for more information about our company.

I signed up and went back and forth with them trying to see if this was a scam or not. I did complete one assignment but I just felt in my gut after that it wasn’t right and seemed to be good to be true. I’m going to monitor everything for the next few days to make sure they didn’t hack me or anything. I also told them I did not want to take part anymore and they seemed to be ok with that.

PLEASE tell us that the one assignment that you completed did NOT involve the purchase of any gift cards!!!!!!!!!!
No it was eating at a restaurant? Why what’s the gift card one? I just didn’t feel right about it though. Trusting my gut on this one. I also told them that I didn’t want to take part anymore and to not contact me again. Then I cancelled my bank cards. It might be normal but I started reading stories online and it just didn’t feel right. Now I feel dumb.

It's where you receive a large check around $2500.00 or so from a PHONY MSC that is posing as a legit MSC, and are told to deposit the check, buy $2000 worth of gift cards, scratch off the numbers and tell the supposed-MSC what the numbers on the backs of the cards are. Then you are told to keep the remaining $500 as your "fee".....only trouble is, the check is NO GOOD, and within a few days, your bank will call you and tell you that you need to pay back all that money into your account!!! So that's the gift card scam, or others quite similar to it.
To be clear the above description of a gift card scam is a scam going on where the scammers may pose from and use the name of many different mystery shop companies. Anytime you receive a job invite from a company you are not already working for you should be suspicious. If it is from a company you already work for but sounds too good to be true do not use the link in the email but sign in to the company website you have been using and sign up for the job that way. Sometimes these scam emails look very real and they have changed one little dot or space on the website name you are familiar with to trick you into clicking on it.
