RQA Project (Mystery/Recall) w/No Advance

Anyone else completed this project this week? Good thing we have a good operating reserve! (Also, the destruction process stinks!)

I also did this project but didn't find any that fit the criteria. I'm guessing you mean the destruction process literally stinks? How many did you find? How long did it take to destroy what you found? Did you do the destruction at your home or somewhere else?
I did one store in my area for the dog food buy back. I got my reimbursement check for the amount purchased within 4 days. The pay is approved and will come later on, probably in another 3-4 weeks or so.
Good to know, as I found a LOT…over $200 out of pocket expenses. It was fine, but not expected

was this for pet food?
Asking for my dog....
Yes, but you have to destroy the dog food and send pictures.

I have 3 more locations to do today.
How exactly do you destroy dog food? I purchased a bag of dog food a couple of months ago and my dog vomitted 2 days in a row. I inspected the bag and it smelled rancid. Chewy refunded me but I haven't purchased that brand again. So thank you for doing the smelly work because nobody wants to see their pet get sick.

Do you guys typically take the per store or hourly rate for RQA? Last project, I did hourly.
Has this project been updated or changed in the last day or two? There were about 20-30 locations available in my area a couple of days ago. I went back on today to accept some and the whole project is gone. Even if someone else took the locations, normally there would be a "no locations available" message but the project would still be listed.
Can I ask what brand of it was? A close out store by me had a ton of Halo brand, which is normally a decent brand but I was curious why it was there....

I’m starting my locations tomorrow after I swore I would never do this stinky project again.

For this project, you buy the refrigerated tubes and take them home. Then slice the tube down in the middle, and squeeze out the dog food into a trash bag. Then you have to place the empty wrappers in another trash bag. Then when you're done, you take a picture of the trashed dog food and another picture of the empty wrappers. Then go throw them into the trash!

The first location I did, I took the hourly rate, because it was only one location, and the drive alone was close to 30 minutes each way. Add onto that the time in-store, and the destruction at home, and the expense reporting on-line, it was better for me to go hourly.
Today, I did 3 locations, and I took the flat per-store rate, because I figured I would get all 3 in, plus destroy the stuff, plus report expenses, in less than 3 hours, and I did. I came in at 2 hours and 40 minutes, so I made a bit more by taking the per store rate today. It just depends on how much you've got to do. You just need to take some time to figure out your drive time, etc., and then choose.
Hi - Did you have to request the reimbursement check? I did a bunch of these last week and this week, and am over $500 In purchases! Would love to get that reimbursed sooner than 3-4 weeks, but i don't see any info about how to request earlier payment. Thanks!

The brand that made my dog sick was Diamond Naturals. It smelled rancid so we threw it out. Chewy sent us another bag but the same issue. I thought maybe chewy had some old bags or something so I went to a local pet store and it also smelled bad. I even opened it at the pet store and they agreed it smelled bad. I took the lot numbers of all of the bags and emailed it to the dog food company and they did respond to me but they told me there was nothing wrong with any of those batches. They didn't even say sorry your dog got sick. So we switched brands.
Thank you! I will avoid this brand and luckily I don't buy the tubed food anyway, that stuff is pricy. It'd be cheaper to buy ground beef and cook it up with some veggies myself. I'm sorry your pup got sick and hope you find a better brand that works for you guys!

if you run into it again you can probably put in an entry here: [www.fda.gov]

I did, yes. Once I got home and completed my expense report, I sent off a very polite and courteous email to Tom Kowalski at RQA sent to: t.kowalski@rqa-inc.com. In the body of your email, explain that you have spent $XXX amount of dollars on the product, (in my case for the "dog food" project) and have finished sending in your expense report, and nicely ask if you could now have your expenses reimbursed via overnight FedEx check. Explain you are not asking for your pay at this time, just your reimbursement for any product you had to purchase. Also, upload to Tom as well all your receipts for which you have not been reimbursed. When you sign off your email, include your ID number for their reference. You should hear something back by the next day.
Those of you who found the product you needed to buy and destroy, what area of the country are you in? I'm in Southern California. I've now checked 7 locations and none of them had any I had to buy and destroy. Thanks.

Also I love this forum. I've learned so much and appreciate all of the helpful info so many of you provide. I found out about RQA from this forum.
That is awful! It sounds like they knew about the bad batches and chose not to care.

I will stick to Fresh Pet for Thunder Cat.

Has anybody's expense reports been approved? If so, when did you enter the reports?

Last time I did a job, it took them about a week to approve and another to cut the check.
