A question about Measure Consumer Perspectives....

I'm a little confused about how this msc assigns.

I applied for 3 jobs that are due today. I keep checking and they are not showing up in my assignments. They are still showing up in my applications. I know that the job has not been assigned to someone else because the jobs are still listed under current shops available.

I wonder when they're going to assign these jobs. I mean, they're due TODAY. Talk about waiting until the last minute!

Phoebe,

I've completed 33 shops for MCP in the past 3+ yrs. If, due to my schedule, I must have acceptance by a specific date, I state that fact in the box; if the work isn't assigned, I cancel the application. I shop a rectangle that's 130 mls. by 90 mls. and may not be returning to an area that month. On the flip side though, there're a few locations near my house. With those, I submit the app and "let the chips fall where they may." This is what works for me and it completely eliminates any frustration of not knowing where I stand.
I agree. I apply for a job and if it is not assigned within an amount of time that allows me to work the visit into my schedule, I cancel my application. MCP has some jobs that are self-schedule, some that you must apply for. When you apply, they usually assign the shop very quickly. Sometimes they do not and I don't wait long.
It's like you've been designated a backup shopper, without your agreement. I also will delete my app when it gets to the point that my schedule won't allow it. It's just a pain to have to keep tabs, take time, delete.
I have done many shops for this company and never had an issue until now. I applied for multiple shops and they have been sitting in the application site for days. They are now past due. I will have to cancel them as I am not going back to that area for a while.
That has happened to me a lot with them. Like others, if it gets too close to the due date, I cancel the application. In the past, I've had them approve an application too close to the time it's due.

I cancelled three yesterday. I wonder if it all the same type of shop we are waiting on. I applied for four of the same type on Monday and they just say there until I cancelled them (one for some reason had a later due date so I left that one there).

On Wednesday I applied for a different type of shop with them and it was accepted within hours.
Lillian,

When this MSC was first formed, I noticed this peculiarity and did/do as you've stated. In the box Shopmetrics provides, if it must be scheduled by a specific date, I write that information and if it isn't assigned, I cancel the application. In addition, I've both written to and spoken with 3 of the company's representatives and suggested self assignment; I've been told they're working on implementing the procedure, as they realize there're shoppers who travel for jobs and may be miles away the next day.
Sounds like a scheduler is not keeping close enough tabs. I just went to the site to cancel the shops and noticed the due date changed to Sunday. Not sure what to do with the other three that are still there.
I will keep an eye on them for now.
Thanks for the feedback, all.
I've done about 40 shops for them this year and have noticed this scheduling problem several times. However, I've found that keeping an eye on the site usually works. I've never had to cancel an application. However, have come pretty close two times. I really like the way they pay, though.
One thing I find odd with their scheduling is that they do not schedule all the shops they put on their board and they announce that they will not. The emails always say that they will not schedule every location listed for the same client. They have a certain amount they have to schedule and once they meet that, they don't schedule the rest.
I very much like that they say you can cancel at any time without penalty. May or may not be true.
If you need a decent hair cut plus $5 check it out.
Well, now I'll eat my prior words. I applied for three shops last week, supposedly for Monday, Aug. 22. The scheduler kept changing the due date, the last time today, and I finally decided to cancel my applications. Pretty weird.
Measure CP has alot of shops when I apply iusuassly give them 2 days to either accep or deny my request. If they accept your e-mail you to confim that you will do the shop. Asif after 2 days they haven't acted I will cancel the shop.
