End of an era

Pretty sure I've been one of the top Rubber Ducky car wash shoppers, consistently doing 8 to 10 shops a month for years. I would get advance access to book shops for each coming month as a result of my efforts.

I'm done.

Reports can no longer be entered via a web browser, and must be done in the iSS app. Yet each section requires extensive narratives, and one must be able to access the audio recording while entering data.

Now that I can no longer physically input answers into the report while I listen to the audio on my phone and these are too much of a PITA to continue.

I'll be purchasing a monthly membership moving forward as I've gotten used to having a clean car after all this time.

The product is only okay, but they have tons of locations in my area, so I will be able to get a car wash just about every day the sun is out.

Screw you, BARE!

And you can't change the search radius when looking for jobs, or move the map around. So you can only see jobs that are really close unless you make a separate search for each zip code.
I have never understood the extensive narratives. To me, a simple yes or no and an overall comment at the end of the report would work. There's one report I use to do on ISS that every single answer has a narrative.

*Checks the yes box then: Yes, the staff verbally welcomed me when I entered the store. They made eye contact and also said, "Welcome in!". Checks the yes box then: "The bathroom was clean. The supplies were stocked."

And you want to pay me $5 for all of this?! smh

Shopping Arkansas, Louisiana, & Mississippi.
You can expand your search by using the “other” option and entering a different location on your preferred trajectory but in my experience from the last half of 2025 on, it’s been the same shops that don’t pay enough to cover my round trip transportation overhead.

I used to be on ISS doing jobs every day. I don’t miss the repetitive, wonky report forms at all.

I hate using apps, especially ones that tend to glitch.

AI to the rescue -- write me a 100 character narrative to say the bathroom was clean.
You can fill out the report using the app. When you have a narrative...use MS Word on a desktop or laptop and then email yourself the narrative and cut/paste. No way am I typing all that out on my phone.

Uh, no. That's way too much extra work for no increase in job fees.

It's actually a lot quicker (at least for me). I did this today for a shop. I had a lot of "no's" and needed a rather lengthy explanation.

yes, Ive noticed that too and the app is terrible. Also some of the questions are idiotic. How do you get advanced access?
What is advanced access? I'm not a superfan of using the app to do the report. But for my narrative, I'm using my computer anyways. Doesn't matter to me to send the narrative to myself in email and just cut/paste into the app. Makes more sense than being upset about it and now paying for the washes instead.
