They stiffed plenty of people on this board. Their policy is to pay a minimum of 3 months out and once they are late, which happens to pretty much everyone, you have to be relentless in sending them reminders about getting paid. That is if you get paid. Given the time involved - reviewing guidelines, watching the video, taking the test, minimum time on site, travelling to the site and back or
@Tiffany0921 This shop pays a fee plus reimbursement.

I'm so glad this MSC lets you see the guidelines before picking up a shop. They let you know what the mandatory sub is (yes I read it in this thread, too, but I like that the MSC lets you know before you agree to a shop). I understand the client wants a specific sub shopped and the temp, but I also have the right to not
@hbbigdaddy What? Are you joking or serious? "Smudges and fingerprints on glass door" and a B letter grade would most likely keep you from going to a sub place? Not sure how a busy location can keep smudges and fingerprints from appearing on a glass door during peak times. To each his own.
Now that you know that the guidelines state you need to take a pic of infractions in the dining room. Are you still of the opinion that the shopper should get partial pay? If so, how much should they get? Why shouldn't the entire shop be rejected since they didn't fulfill the guidelines? If they gave partial pay, then won't they have to send someone else out to take pics of the infractions, you
There are different red white and blues and the one that I presumed being discussed has a market cap of $360B and sometimes they are black, red, and white, another one has a market cap of $600B, and yet another is $70B. Why would we use their market cap as a gauge on how much they pay? Does that mean the one that is sometime red, black, and white should only pay 60% of what the one with the lar
@Isaiah4031a The most recent one that is being discussed in this thread is not dine in, but they have two versions where your assignment is order at the counter or mobile order. You are required to order a medium Steak & Cheese Melt, not a combo, and no modifications. Ordering a medium Steak & Cheese sub does not count and will result in a shop rejection. Only if the Steak & Chees
@minime What would the State AG do in this case? The OP cited an infraction in the report, but didn't take a pic. The OP admits they thought it was weird to take a pic of the old oven and table in a box in the dining room. On the scale of easy to hard, this is a pretty easy picture to take given that it is in the dining room compared to the picture of the menu board which is above/behind the w

What normal customer takes pictures of things in the dining room of any restaurant? That just screams “mystery shopper” and I don’t reveal myself. Ever. The rusted toaster oven and cardboard-wrapped table were on top of a seemingly otherwise-normal table in the dining area outside the kitchen prep area.
Sorry, but this is on you since the toaster oven and cardboard-wrapped table w
Why didn't you take a picture of the wrapped-in-cardboard table? Are you saying the table was or was not in the dining area? How are you able to tell the toaster oven is old and doesn't belong? If the table was in the dining area, then there is no reason you couldn't take a picture.
You were too finicky when it came to looking for issues. Nowhere in the guidelines does it say anything ab
@FeelinSassie "pizza chains are closing a large percentage of locations"? These two large pizza operators are targeting underperforming stores where Pizza Hut is closing 3.5% of USA locations and Papa John's 8.5% of its North American stores which is far from a large percentage. I agree with you that these operators need solid data, but I think it comes down to how much these mystery shopping
I just received another free survey offer from a different MSC.
This one must not have seen my demand for direct payment and not a chance to win nonsense as they offered: "As a token of our appreciation for your participation, we are giving you a chance to win four $25 gift cards to your favorite stores, such as Amazon, Apple, Starbucks, or Doordash."
Appreciate my time with money.

Big surprise, but these mystery shopping companies now want us to do surveys for free.
I received a request from one of these companies asking that I fill out a short survey so they can get feedback. Why would I fill out a survey for free? If they are really interested in my feedback, they should include some form of payment.
Not a "fill out a survey for a chance to win a $100 gift car
@Cassiespark and others, yes there was one type of JH Audit where the instructions stated you had to check in with WalMart customer service. I didn't go to CS because I had time to waste. I mentioned there was more than one type, so clearly you had the other type, which I also had, where you go to the preparer, introduce yourself, ask them questions regarding procedure, and take pics.
@weath
The other type did not require that you stop by Walmart customer service first. I was just trying to point out that there are hurdles and time blockers like this and if you go when there is a customer. At this point of the cycle, it is rare that they will have a customer.
I just saw that Field Agent has these jobs too. They are offering a huge payday of $2 each for half a dozen photos and a
I've done two different types. I know at least one required that you check in with customer service before going to the JH desk which makes it a PIA. If there is a line at customer service, then this will slow you down. I recall one time they had to get someone in charge before they would let me take pics and go to the JH station. Like @weatherman2111 mentioned, if there is a client present th
You admit that the station ran out of gasoline. If they have black bags covering all the pumps, then it can only rate as a closed location since customers can't buy any gas at the time of your visit. The convenience store being open is not important in this context since the availability of gas is the underlying criteria for open or closed status. The respective lights being turned on is another
@Maria72 I understand the gas station's point of view about not having squeegees since customers take them and it is too expensive to keep replacing them. Shouldn't some gas stations get a pass for not having them? Other stations will never have employees wear badges and they have employees wear the station's t-shirt, so what is the point of taking a picture of the counter? Other stations let
I was curious when the last time the base price for these tasks went up. I haven't seen a raise in the fees for these shops ever. I tried researching and found that depending on the task, the MSC could be making 5-10x what we are getting paid on the base price.
A red, white. and blue gas station went from $10 to $10/$2, but that doesn't count in my book since they added a required purchase w
@viv0412 You brought up using glasses for a car wash shop. Do you have a pair of these glasses and use them on your shops? Are they the Metas or are you talking about a different brand. The Metas have a feature with a light that blinks from the time you start recording until you finish that makes it clear you are recording them. Apparently Meta does it for privacy issues.

What is your barometer for "legit arrests" and "the criminal element"? They have captured and arrested criminal aliens across the USA.
They have arrested murderers, drug traffickers, sexual predators
@Minime There you go again. Very unlikely that the “3.5 % rule” directly applies to the No Kings protests in the U.S., because the context is different. Context matters. The goal of the protests is not overthrow of the regime, but rather protesting a behavior. The structure of our government is stable.
@Minime I figured it would go over your head. The point was that why would someone care about a Dem's opinion when they struggle to explain what a woman is, other than to say a woman is that person that identifies as a woman. It was presumed that when you said a Dem you meant a political figure. I could've just said my neighbor supports it and you could never disprove it.

@joanna81 Thomas Jefferson made renovations to the White House and there was no formal bidding process. So did JFK and Clinton with no formal bids. There have been others as well.

I recall California trying to get Uber and Lyft to reclassify drivers as employees from ICs. The drivers even stated they decided which company to work with and when and sometimes they did assignments for both during the day or the week. It was a clear example of government overreach and having no clue how business runs. That's how Prop 22 came to be and it passed. Uber and Lyft said they woul
@Minime Minimum wage laws only apply to employees, not independent contractors. Those that perform assignments found on secretshopper and similar are ICs and not employees. If someone decides to do one of their assignments that pays $10 and it is 30 minutes away from their home, it takes 30 minutes to do the shop, 15 for the report, another 15 to answer their follow ups, and they spent $6 in
I know someone that worked at a bank and they told me they do a soft credit pull on new customers when you open a checking or savings account. The policy has to do with confirming your identity, to check against fraud databases, determine risk for account misuse, and to comply with a know your customer regulation.
Just because you have achieved financial independence doesn't make it easy. I congratulate you for it, but you must realize that you were lucky on many fronts. I call your attention to the fact that your spouse agreed to live in a single wide trailer. There are many that would say that is a deal breaker, we need to do better, or it's over. Although you did not have much at that time, divorce
