Weather posts--Options 3....the client is just really slow.
Bob comments--Being slow is not an option; it is an aftermath. The price paid for being tardy is a loss of some shoppers. They have a posting I literally drive by monthly; I would have applied had I not read this thread. If any shopper is comfortable with an MSC that regularly, according to this thread, violates the conditions of an a
When the pay for ICs is habitually late, I am only aware of 2 reasons: A desire to use another's money as an interest free loan or cash flow problems. 1 is bad and the other is not good.
This is the problem I have with the requirement to purchase an alcoholic beverage. For me, the primary attraction of a dining assignment is the food. If the drink is $5 and the reimbursement is $30, that is a 16.6% reduction is my pay. I MUST drink water with food and I do not desire alcohol.
In addition to the above, unless the strict adherence to ordering suits my taste, I leave those shops
4mos opines--Big surprise, but these mystery shopping companies now want us to do surveys for free.
Bob comments--Not at all a surprise to me. This is a natural progression of what Lorie Kern posted on the Volition forum in Jan. of 2009. She requested that shoppers work for lower fees to assist MSCs in financial difficulties.
I have never, do not now nor foresee ever criticizing companies
When I relate an experience, it is not to brag. I simply enjoy sharing good news.
3 wks. ago, I applied and was accepted for my first Curinos AKA Informa, phone shop. My pay upon completion was $75 and it arrived today. I am guesstimating the prep and call, no report, just an E-letter with details, at a single hour.
Now the bad part: I only qualify for approx. 4 jobs a yr. It is similar to
According to my log, I completed my first Medicare Advantage shop 18 yrs. ago and was paid $55+ mileage. I would guess the presentation, report and drive time at 2 1/2 hrs. Even bottom paying Trendsource paid me $45 for one in 2010 an approx. 3 mile round trip from my house.
Morled posts--and they ask for too much for only $12.
Bob agrees--I completed a single shop of this type in Sept. of 2023. My two reasons were that it paid $28+$5 or $6+$1 and I was driving within one block in my travels. As it was, I still barely profited, as my shop and report time was approx. 80 minutes. For mysterioso, who enjoys the work, has minimal drive time and expense and has his/her
As with several other posters, both my age and score have reduced the work for which I qualify. After adding the existence of MSC conglomerates, dining no longer being of interest, the companies with whom I am no longer contracted and fee reductions, my shopping has been almost, but not completely, restricted to the defrayment of travel expenses.
My comment will not be directed at the named scheduler, but Insight, Ipsos, MFI and RBG..
Before the name change, I completed work beginning approx. 18 yrs. ago and neither ever experienced nor read of any problems. It was only after they began gobbling up other MSCs that I read of negativism.
I became contracted with Ipsos 15 yrs. ago, but only began experiencing problems after they also
boridi, it has never been my intention to brag; that is not my nature. Both Viv and Morled are correct with their respective posts. Unfortunately, we are not able to either face one another nor vocally speak on the forum. That fact indeed can be a cause of misunderstanding.
If the following only assists a single shopper with decisions, it is well worth a read,
During my sales career, which began in 1963, I was taught a tool referred to as a Ben Franklin. The story goes that when Ben was in need of a decision, he would draw a line separating a paper into two halves titled PRO & CON. He would then list all reasons for and against, then decide how to proceed. La
I completed a de-branding Marathon for the company 11/25, with my pay arriving 12/27. It was my first shop for this MSC in 26+ mos. and paid $25. Either I was singled out for special treatment, which is very unlikely. or they cut their past payment time in 1/2.
My suggestion is, if one fits your route, give it a try. The worst that can happen is your pay arrives according to the former schedu
I also was faced with your situation. A few yrs. back, I thought, due to my post, that YMMV was you make me vomit. Somehow I figured out I could type such mysteries into the address bar and Google would educate me. Since then, it has always worked.
Viv, I do not laugh at comedy, but facetiousness, for whatever reason, I find quite humorous. When it is disguised, but with a tad of realism, it is even better. Gotcha

Since Bliss began this thread 2 wks. ago, I have racked my brain as to the identity of this scheduler. It is near impossible to imagine anyone associated with an MSC dealing with ICs in such a manner. If there were not several other posters, all of whom seem to know the identity of scheduler X, I would assume, over the yrs., I merely had not crossed her path. For surely she and I would have been
The MSC must have decided these shops were worthy of the Arab:camel model. If they required little travel, I completed some at $20, but most were for $30, with $55 being my high.
To paraphrase Helena, if a shopper applies for $10, they surely must be desperate. In toner/ink, paper, electricity and printer wear, one has from $1.50 to $2.00 invested.
Linda, on 3 occasions over a 23 yr. period as a shopper, I visited the wrong location. Upon realizing my error, I contacted each MSC, explained my mistake and offered to complete the shop where it was assigned. All companies were understanding.
Karen, I commend your patience in two areas. First, the extent with which you attempted to contact the MSC. Secondly, when you failed to receive assistance, you "kicked 'em to the curb".
I was terminated by the MSC currently with the account. As I visit the Roadhouse on military Monday, discount 20% for 51 weeks and 30% annually, I enter before the hooping and hollering and dine off the early bird menu. Finally, when I exit there is not a report to submit and I am not required to allot some of my reimbursement toward a liquid with which I am devoid of interest; I MUST drink water
gardn comments--I don't go where I am not wanted.
Bob agrees--As it applies to both business and romance, that is exactly my sentiment. All one needs to utter is a "shoo Bob" and I shoo.
viv opines--Your last sentence tells me there is A LOT more to this story than you are stating.
Bob agrees--It sure sounds as though you are correct.
Jas.,
This might be different for other areas, but in SW Ohio, each store is visited on 4 occasions per period; 2 each of self and full service. That does not, though, apply to the competitor shops. As it has been 12 mos., I do not recall if there were multiple visits for the pick-up and fuel. While I was a fuel shopper, the pick-up jobs had no interest to me.
Sup,
My thought was that perhaps this person, as I have done in the past, was not focused on what, I consider, occurred. You are, of course, logically correct.
I am located 2 mls. from 2 stores and 3 1/2 mls. from a 3rd. In addition, there are 22 Krogers I pass within fewer than 5 mls. while traveling to restock my store. Paraphrasing an old adage, one shopper's meat can easily be another's poison.
A second advantage is the opportunity to save utilizing the red produce bags, the reduced deli food and the aged meat.
I do not believe the MSC was att
vivki states--Kroger lied to us.
Bob replies--Kroger did not lie to me.
vivki continues--They promised the shops that were a lot less work and a lot more money were supposed to come back February 1st.
Bob comments--They did not promise me any work.
vikki concludes--They just strung us along to keep us working for very low pay on the other shops for an entire year.
Bob disagrees-T
