IIRC You make up all your own info, but they run you through a regular shop scenario like, "Was the atmosphere comfortable?" You answer yes or no, then provide narrative. Same with food, service, etc. Pretty standard, but they do ask for a "detailed report" and to "let your writing skills shine" The questions seemed to go on longer than I wanted, basically to write a "spec" report for a possibil
You have to do a fairly in-depth application for them, and also a mock shop report. It doesn't rival a Coyle shop, but it is still a pretty involved process, before you even know if they have anything in your area! As always, YMMV!
FWIW, I did a couple jobs in December '24 because a scheduler that I had worked with at other MSC's convinced me. After a couple months of chasing payment, and then seeing all this on the forum, I wrote it off. Last week, December '25, out of the blue, I was shocked to be paid for my two jobs. Just sayin.......YMMV.
@hbbigdaddy, They just recently relocated their corporate offices to your area. I wonder if that has something to do with it, because they are heavy in my area, but I see no shops listed....Hmmmmm
Scott and Bob are correct. It is simply posted in the wrong section. Can you imagine having to sort thru a bunch of solicitations to read the real postings. It should be posted in the "Job Board" section.
The one time it did happen I said, "What, like I am the millionth customer or something?....did I win anything?", and acted a little excited and confused. They let it go quickly!
I don't think they are. I merchandise for three different companies at my one local Petro, and have done so for years. I have never been aware of an MS program, but I am aware of the Pilot and Love's shops & merchandising opportunities.
I am pretty sure the rental management company would be very disappointed to receive the exact same report from two different sources. It could cause you problems with both MSC's.
I have had at least 100 personal interactions with Nikki over the years with different MSC's. This is both through phone calls and emails. I have never once had a questionable interaction. We have discussed shop instructions, reschedules, and availability. She has been professional and accommodating. She is a scheduler. Her job is to get shops scheduled. I like to help her do that. I'm sure she
Wow! These comments about N.A blow me away. I have worked with her for years over several MSC' and every experience has been positive and mutually respectful. We just get stuff done!
PAYE is a system in the UK where the exact amount of tax is taken from your check regardless of who your employer is. That's why there is no tax return, you pay the correct amount as you go. Not all UK companies participate however. It is not a system to skip paying taxes.
I do exactly what Sestrahelena suggests. Sometimes I have to reprint the blanks because they start to get tattered looking due to not being used for so long! Just write the codes down in your notes, or look it up on your phone on the rare chance that the employee does what they are supposed to do.
@sandyf, I always wonder about the intelligence of managers who out the shopper. Seems like the smart ones would make a note of what you look like and deliver stellar service in the future, instead they out the shopper, get them banned, feel superior, then have to figure out who the "new" shopper is! Uh, yeah, that worked well for ya'
I did 2 Costco gas shops last week. An inside purchase was required for my shops. I headed to the food court for the hot dog special, and on my way out I snapped a quick photo of the 8' high MID right behind the receipt checkers.
There is absolutely no magic formula. It depends on the MSC, the time of month or quarter, how many shoppers are in the area, how remote or difficult the shop is to cover, etc.
Landscape mode is a wider picture, so with a phone, you would shoot the picture holding the phone sideways or horizontal instead of vertical, the way you normally hold your phone. A camera generally shoots in landscape anyway.
@ sestrahelena, with the old company you just had to stop doing them for 6 months and you were eligible to switch the type you did. Not sure if the same rules will apply.......
HoneyBrown is correct. I have neither been a victim of late payment from Red Quanta nor have I had a reason to ever search for them on this forum, but I am WELL AWARE of their propensity to pay late!
