Re: Assignment date confusion - Yesterday

Each company does things differently. Some require you to do a job on a specific date. Some require you to do it BY a certain date., and some will allow you to do it any day between the time it's assigned and the listed due date. I was confused because each operated differently, so I asked, and it's made my life a lot easier and more flexible.

Re: Was I right to quit? - Yesterday

There's a difference between a disagreement and abuse. I've terminated 2 companies based on abusive conduct and withholding of payments by their personnel after politely "going through proper channels" and being stonewalled. Walking away from that was like a heavy weight had been lifted from my shoulders and far better things have replaced them. Lesson learned. There are many types of assignm

I join everyone in patting you on the back. They could have at least reimbursed you for fuel or time like many will for a closed location. I still can’t fathom how nickel and diming genuinely hard working IC’s over a 99 cent receipt, while paying us as little as possible, is good for the larger business endeavor. Hard pass, especially if it’s for N-touch. Too much work for the low ball fee, they’ll try to deny payment, and still use your work with the client so they can get paid.

I have family back east and am on the email list for an MSC that covers states in the northeast US. They’re paying $150 + for the same thing we’re being offered $40-&60 for on the west coast and gas is 2x more expensive here! Yes. Thank you! If you’re open to input, I’m interested to know why we are rating them as we do, too. Criteria I’d be considering as I rate are: 1- Scheduling/schedulers (ease of scheduling, transparency in postings, rescheduling policies) 2- Reports (simplicity/complexity, repetitive questions? overly detailed narratives? 3- Editing/editors 4- Fairness in reviews )do they look for any

The regional director (RD) has been micromanaging all of the schedulers, changing assignments, pulling them, etc, overriding the scheduler's actions. It will be assigned, then it's just gone, or a generic email is sent stating it's been reassigned to someone else with no location included, then it disappears, and reappears on the job board a week or so later.
