Re: Why Did You Choose Your Screen Name? - 3 years ago

@stilllearning wrote: Okay, I'll play. How about your first name begins with an "m" and your last name is "averick"? It's a good thing their name isn't "Brenda Utthead". Or Bob Utthead. PS the quoting part of replying seems to be broken.....

Re: Why Did You Choose Your Screen Name? - 3 years ago

So way back in the mid '00's for some reason it struck me that it would be cool to use "Stormy" as an online handle. Something about it just clicked with me. Then around 2009-ish or so, when I wanted to start trying different small home/self-employed business ideas, I wanted a name for my potential future little businesses, that I could get an email associated with and stuff. A potential

Re: Spreadsheet -- Database of Comapanies (Can you help update this?) - 3 years ago

@Tarantado and others interested, I'm still working with Jacob to help update the "Official Listing" on this forum site -- it deserves to be all spiffy again too! But I agree that having the spreadsheet is a good option for many -- I'm happy you and others like it! I'm doing updates today, from all of the posts here and in the other thread about updating the MSC list; and from some PM's!

Re: Spreadsheet -- Database of Comapanies (Can you help update this?) - 3 years ago

@JacobJ Right now I'm the only one with "write access" to the sheet, so if anyone finds anything that needs correcting, post here and I will take care of it. The old "too many cooks" thing, and avoiding conflicting information, or information that hasn't been verified. However!! Anyone can save a copy of the spreadsheet to their computer, and then do whatever they like to it.

Re: Updating MSC Database - 3 years ago

@andrew475 thanks for finding and verifying all of the MSC URL's! (even though I don't have them in yet, for N thru Z -- they will be ) @stilllearning thanks for spearheading this whole effort! @myst4au thanks for all of your research efforts on current MSC status and various things! and at everyone else, thanks for any and all input on making the new MSC list. For now, it is

Re: Please clean up the shop database - 3 years ago

Hey ya'll -- check out this thread: And spread the word!! @stilllearning and myself are undertaking the lead on this project, and I will be assisting Jacob with some "backend" forum stuff soon.

Re: Updating MSC Database - 3 years ago

Ah that's right -- I'll do a tab for "MSC's by Platform", add those to the sheet. Plus will re-check the earlier letters! And yes -- please anyone who can help with verifying URL's it would be totally awesome!!! I wish this forum had an "@everyone" thing like discord does..... every single person would be aware this and the previous message existed!

Re: Updating MSC Database - 3 years ago

I've got the spreadsheet updated through "H", will do up through "M" next! eta: done through "M"

Re: Updating MSC Database - 3 years ago

While the industry(ies) that a MSC specializes in could be difficult to pin down -- not to mention very subject to change -- one thing that *might* help is if we could have a column for when a MSC was last known to be active? Even if we didn't have that for every single MSC (there is a lot of them!), it might be a nice thing to have. If anyone wanted to ever take that on. Just an idea.

Re: Updating MSC Database - 3 years ago

@stilllearning wrote: Insight, yes. Stormcloud has created a Google Spreadsheet, however I believe it's still in the preliminary stages. That is correct! Let me finish getting things set up. I'm also coordinating with JacobJ on "The List" and it's handling. And hopefully on assisting him with some back-end forum work to update/upgrade some things he's been wanting to do around here, which

Re: Preliminary A List - 3 years ago

Hi all! I haven't been around the forum much since ~2015 due to returning to school and getting a bachelor's in computer science. I'm now a web developer/programmer, and as much as I enjoyed MS'ing and have no regrets about my time doing it -- this is so much better. Anyhow, the current plan is that I'll get to work with Jacob to hopefully make some forum improvements as well. Hopefully w

Re: Scheduler of the Year Contest: Nominations - 10 years ago

Okay, thought of one more, also with Mintel: Danielle Austin-Cano. She was very helpful with yet another long-term project I was doing for them, responding right away to questions, and always with a friendly attitude.

Re: Scheduler of the Year Contest: Nominations - 10 years ago

Ooo... Paula with Ridgway. I've loved working with her on some special shops! Very supportive and helpful and gets right back to me about questions.

Re: Scheduler of the Year Contest: Nominations - 10 years ago

Oh, and Katie Clemens, also at Mintel. She's been very helpful with several questions and clarifications for a long-term project I'm doing for them, and always gets back to me quickly.

Re: Scheduler of the Year Contest: Nominations - 10 years ago

Also, John Rodriguez at Bare. Fun and easy to work with, responds quickly whenever I ask anything, and has rescheduled for me no prob, a couple times when I've missed the last of a particularly time-sensitive shop in a day. (:

Re: Scheduler of the Year Contest: Nominations - 10 years ago

Josh Francy at Mintel. He was patient, kind, and helpful when I wasn't sure what to do with a project and almost messed it up because of that. He helped me fix stuff and get everything put right. (:

Re: Feedback for New Forum Design - 10 years ago

The new format truly sucks for more reasons than I have the patience to enumerate right now. (: (the PM area is THE worst ~ the main forum ain't much better) I don't care to adapt to things this aggravating, either.

And why do I always forget that there's such (previously) good stuff in the tupperware in my fridge so that I have to put it down the garbage disposal?? (graph depicting time spent using tupperware ~ hilarious and posted on the front of my fridge even)

Re: Questions - 11 years ago

Why does the garbage disposal decide to take a crap *right* after you put a whole bunch of rancid moldy stuff out of the tupperware in your fridge down there??

Re: Questions - 11 years ago

Why does the phone only seem to ring, as soon as I get in the shower? Or right after I begin to do other things in that room? Or as soon as I go outside to play with the dogs? Or as soon as I close my eyes to take a nap?
