I wouldn't be surprised if they shut down completely within the next few years. They've been struggling for too long and the changes they're trying to make are probably too late at this point to really save it. They needed a new leadership team a long time ago.
The only time I use cash is if a mystery shop requires it. The cash I get from Chase's ATMs are usually pretty clean and new looking. I always use a credit card and pay it in full to reap the benefits of credit card rewards/cashback. I have a credit card that offers 2% cashback on any purchase and have other cards that offer 3-5% cashback for other categories (dining, online shopping, gas, grocer
Also not worth it for me if you can't enter your rewards number and not receive elite status benefits. I have elite status with the airline and value being automatically checked-in 36 hours prior to the flight to get a good boarding position and having the flexibility to change to a different flight same-day for free.
If you don't fly that often and you don't really accumulate airline miles, this shop is probably worth it for you.
I have way too many airline miles for this airline from credit card churning/sign-up bonuses. I still have about 100K miles left to use. I'd rather redeem points for a free award flight and not worry about doing a shop than pay for a half off flight.
@KV I got an email from the scheduler 2 days ago saying they have a few airline shops left if you book/fly before 12/31. It's not on the job board. You need to email travel@sqm.ca if you're interested.
I usually stick with no hair and the editors haven't said anything. There's a few MSC's out there that differentiate between shaved head and bald. Some MSCs consider shaved head to be a short buzz cut length (shorter than short length/more hair than completely bald) and bald to be absolutely no hair/smooth head.
I just got paid for all the Market Force shops I did in November. One of my November shops is still on the receipt/status page even though I already got paid.
Welcome! I used to be a shopper in the East Bay/Bay Area (now in SoCal). Try KSS, MaritzCX, athPower, Service Sense, Customer Service Experts, iSecretShop.
@KV Nope. SQM is based in Canada, but American shoppers can join. The airline that they shop is a major American airline carrier that doesn't fly to Canada.
It's not worth it for $10. I've done them before with a $10 bonus before. The shop is easy to complete. It took me 16 minutes to get the prices of all 50 items the first time I did the shop. You enter everything into the app so it looks like you're texting. The Indian owner didn't suspect anything.
I did a Bank of America to Merril referral shop using the inheritance scenario. The banker reacted properly and said, "Sorry for your loss" and gave an empathetic/puppy-dog eye look at me. I'm pretty sure I didn't react properly. I blanked out and didn't know how to react. I gave him a weird half-smirk and didn't know what to say. There was a long awkward moment of silence before I steered it bac
@salisburync They're not late in paying. Their payment policy clearly states that they pay around the 15th of the following month you do the shop. Key word: "around." They don't process payments on weekends.
Some of the MSCs state in the guidelines to not describe the employee as "bald." What are you supposed to write instead of "bald?" No hair on head? Smooth head? Some hair on the side of their head?
One of Maritz's gas station alcohol compliance shops asks why you were in the store for so long. It pops-up if you're in the store for more than 5 minutes...
