Can someone help me understand?

I did a shop last night. My evaluation said I got an 8 for being too specific, has this happened to anyone else?

It would be hard to tell you without looking at your report and/or what the shop was. Generally a report that has too much specific detail threatens identifying the shopper. A report that has a whole lot of detail about what the client is not interested in can be a problem as well. If the editor had to spend a lot of time removing either of these two they indeed are likely to lower your score.
It's a Godilocks thing.

They don't wan the porridge too hot, or the porriridge too cold. They want it just right.
I've had a couple times where I was told I gave too much detail/specifics... other places want all the details and specifics! You just have to learn which shops want what. But don't worry too much about an 8. smiling smiley

I would guess that you used an associate's name when they did not want you to or you gave too much information about your interaction so you could be identified by the associate when the results of the shop were discussed with that employee. Sometimes they state in the guidelines they don't want that information included, other times, they do want it included. Yes, it's a learning curve.
