Did they meet your expectations?

I am a bit stumped with the questions as to whether a business / person met my expectations. My expectations as a normal shopper would be different in some respects than my expectations as a mystery shopper.

So though an employee didn't do this, or say that, as indicated in the form -- on the questions where they specifically ask if they met your expectations - do you answer with the expectations you would have as a regular shopper, or the expectations you develop because you begin to learn what they are "supposed" to do?

If my impression is they want my subjective opinion, that's what they get. To me it is an opportunity to highlight aspects of the visit that may not have met corporate standards yet still enhanced my visit. Just this week a sales associate only met about 60% of the standards listed for the report yet it was one of the most pleasant shopping experiences I've had and made me want to purchase from her. It was nice being able to tell them.

Equal rights for others does not mean fewer rights for you. It's not pie.

Never try to teach a pig to sing. It's a waste of your time and it really annoys the pig.
Thanks LisaSTL. I do that too. I am just noticing, especially on the shipping things shops, my expectations seem to be changing after doing a lot of shops; but most of the things are not things that would really matter to me anyway if I was just shipping a package. I think I need to stick to the mindset of what I would expect as a regular shopper.
Just state why they met or did not meet your personal expectations. Then they can evaluate your conclusion based on the explanation. For example, during a recent bank shop I noticed a well maintained and attractive salt water fish tank. That enhanced my experience and would be stated on such a response.
