High Dollar Purse Shop Legitimate?

Hi!
I can't thank you enough for the information this board has provided me in the last week!
I've just started, and your advice has saved me so much trouble already.

I signed up for a shop for next Monday with Service Check. It is for a very expensive purse store.
The pay is $0, but the reimburse is for up to $300 for a specific kind of purse.
The store is an outlet store, so there are no returns.

I love the store and have never dreamed of owning such a purse in my life.
I have a credit card that charges 0% interest. I only use it occasionally, and it still has 12 months of 0% interest left.

Do you think I should do this shop? My reports have all come back as 10's. I don't think I'd forget anything with this much $ on the line.

If you would buy the purse anyway then go ahead and do it. Personally I only take shops that offer reimbursements if I would buy the item anyway as I don't want a shop to be rejected and be out my own money.

You have an interesting post. It seems you are searching for a way to get out of this shop because you don't want to be out the sizable amount if the shop is rejected.

From what I see there is every reason for you to go forward with the shop. Despite being a beginner you are conscientious and very motivated to do this. You have enough experience to know what could go badly enough to get a shop rejected and avoid those things. Rejecting assigned shops is also not good for your mystery shopping career.

Consider reviewing the details of the shop until you know them backwards and forwards. Do a practice run at different store of the client (minus the actual purchase of course), or at a competitor's store if that makes sense for you. Maybe you could practice with a friend at home.

Are you alright with paying for a $300 purse if your shop gets rejected? For me, that's what it comes down to for reimbursement shops.

I did the shop!
I got a really beautiful purse out it.
I carefully checked over the guidelines as you recommended.
I did a practice walk-though in my mind before I went in.
I've studied your responses on this forum about writing accurate reports, and I'm proud to say, my report got a 10! The company has been really good about communications.
I'm pretty confident I'll get paid.

I'll confirm for sure if it works out, in case anyone else is wondering.

If your report was graded, that means it was accepted. You shouldn't have any problem getting paid.

I had no idea how much pressure I would feel on some of these shops! This is my first month, and I can feel myself relaxing more!
I would be a complete mess without being able to learn from others on this board!

I've told a few friends about my work, and they've sent emails saying "Can you send me the link to the company you work for?" I understand the chagrin of the forum posters who get upset about newbies asking for a list of the 'best companies!'

Catregen, congrats on getting a perfect score AND a beautiful purse. I too did this shop back in September as a relatively new shopper. After 45 days, I started to wonder when the reimbursement would come. But it ultimately came a little over 2 months after I shopped. So this is just a friendly FYI for you to not expect an immediate reimbursement, since you were originally concerned about the legitimacy of everything. But it sounds like you will be okay with your great credit card APR rate!

Hello and congratulations. I've seen these shops and was wondering if you were able to purchase a purse with the reimbursement provided? Although I would love to have this purse brand, I do not love it enough where I would need to add a hundred dollars or a couple of hundred in order to purchase one.

I would ask the MSC that question. Interesting.
