Top 10 MSC

What are the top 10 MCS's? I'm new and don't want to waste time and effort on those that are scams or not worth the money.

Thanks!

At the bottom of each page of the forum is our "Official List of Mystery Shopping Companies". The companies on that list are not scams.

It is impossible to tell you which are the "10 best" companies because different companies have different types of shops and clients in different parts of the country. Different shoppers qualify for different shops as well as different shoppers find different shops are worthwhile.

All of us go through the process of 'trying out' a number of companies to find out those that have work we like and that are worthwhile for us to work with. They constitute a different eventual list of 'best' for each shopper. Let me suggest you read through the forum discussions linked to on the "Official List of Mystery Shopping Companies" to see which ones make sense for you to register with first.

There are about 200 companies listed in the link below. None of those companies are scams. As for being "worth the money," that's a determination you will have to make for yourself. Some companies has low-paying assignments as well as higher-paying assignments. I recommend signing up with all of them and deciding which are worth your time. As an independent contractor/business owner, think of the time spent signing up with companies as a business investment.
We all had to do it. I am signed up with most of the companies on the list. My idea of what constitutes a good company could be completely different from yours, Flash, or roflwofl. I didn't know about this forum until many years after I began mystery shopping (2001). I found the forum a few years ago. I wish I had known about it sooner. Count your good fortune in finding this website so early in your career, reading the resources here are invaluable and will save you a lot of time and money, not to mention that it's rather entertaining at times!
Isn't it always lovely to be told someone else's time is way more valuable than your own?

Equal rights for others does not mean fewer rights for you. It's not pie.

Never try to teach a pig to sing. It's a waste of your time and it really annoys the pig.
Just a note: If you take the above advice and read through this forum a bit, you will likely not have to sign up for too many companies... I've only signed up for about 30 and really only use 10 with any sort of regularity - and have more work available than I can handle. This is because I paid attention to the forum and mostly signed up with companies that seemed to have jobs that appealed to me.

Hard work builds character and homework is good for your soul.
@MFJohnston, that is a smart use of the forum. Plus with the Kudos section one can even discover who other shoppers find are pleasant to work with.

Running your own business requires that shoppers do some research for their business and work smart. None of us are paid contributors or paid to do your work for you, especially not on a one-to-one basis. The whole idea of the New Mystery Shopper section was to try to gather in one place the basic help that could most benefit new shoppers.
