gift card resets

I have been doing these resets and I just want to know what everyone does when they do one of these?

I go into these and it seems that what was suppose to be done by the person before wasn't and now instead of 1 1/2 hours I'm at 3 hours or more! The planogram isn't done, the tags weren't switched, there's still old cards on the display and in the backstock. That's a big one for me! If you have to dig through a store's backstock to fill the displays, how hard is it to throw away what isn't good anymore! If it's not on the planogram throw it away, that's what I was told! Not a big deal! That way I don't have to dig through it to find what I need and neither does the next person. Why should the store have all that extra stuff to store too! I went to a three letter store a few weeks ago and they had 5 crates of backstock to go through. Once I was done going through it all and putting it up or throwing it away there was only 1 1/2 left!

I've heard from the managers that people are saying "tags are not my job, or getting rid of the old cards are not my job" Well then I must of missed that memo because my authorization says we are there to make sure the planogram is set correctly, the old discontinued cards are removed and discarded. There are to be new tags put up yet none of this is done, because it's not your job! Then who's job is it? What then are you doing when you are there?!

So what is your job?

Evidently, to do as little work as possible, as quickly as possible, to maximize the $$$ per hour.
I haven't done these, but maybe the stores aren't printing the tags so they can be put up? And maybe the rep is pulling the cards for them to discard, but they aren't doing it? I used to have to destroy merchandise for returns, then give them to the manager to discard. The next month, they would tell me a box was a new shipment. I would open it and it would be a box broken items.

Nope, that's not it. We have to ask for the labels to be printed out and I get asked by many store to tell them or give them what isn't good anymore so they could get rid of it. I just bring an extra box with me and throw all the bad ones in that and then empty it into their dumpster. It's just that easy!
I flat out refuse to do the full audits. I tried one once and was there for double the estimated time because it was so messed up. I finished it and I will never do them again. I don't mind the light visits to reset just one or two types of cards.

That's my point! If everyone does what they are suppose to do then when the next person goes in it should only take the time allotted or less. When I go back into the stores that I had cleaned up I can be out within an hour or so because everything is organized and where it should be! What angers me though is I can do all that work and then not always be assigned to the same store and then someone else goes in who is there just for the money and will some how make a complete mess! I take pride in what I do this isn't just a side job for me, this is my job!
I would ask my manager to assign me to the same locations or else give them to someone else. Also, can you submit extra time if it has been neglected? Maybe send a picture to document before/after?

I have been doing the card placements/audits for a while. I do the very best I can possibly do. Onced it took 3 hours to do the job. I was doing the city closest to me. Well, come to find out the scheduler is now giving the work to someone who lives in that town so that they only pay $11. I have got 6 card jobs to do next month that is several miles away. I will probably quit this company. I have found out the hard way, they do not care if you do a good job or how much time it takes.......Castforce
I was paid for the extra time that I spent in the stores, but my point is I shouldn't have to do all that extra work. If someone takes the job it gives full guidelines on what you need to do and if you can't do it then please don't. I have asked for the same stores but because they're not monthly they won't do it. It's very frustrating because I'll get everything set to planogram and then someone else will come in and screw it up and then the next time I go in I'm back to square one.
It depends on the job you do. I did 13 Speedways last week. I was coming home at 8 or 9 o'clock at night after leaving in the morning about 10 am because the stores were HORRIBLE!

I have done the card resets at cvs and speedway. The 10 speedways that I completed were super easy. The cvs resets just about killed me and I learned to never do resets outside of my town. I will say by the time I got to the last reset I was so much quicker but I was so glad to be done with that job. I have also done a general maintenance at meijer and ran into the problem of the original poster where either no one had been there before me or the job was so poorly done that it took me twice as long as planned. I haven't done any of the meijers since.

Castforce really does not care. At all. Unless they are desperate and then they will call you 4 times and beg you each time to pick up something. Or they will assign it to you without telling you. I had an area manager I told that I was an IC. I would pick the jobs I wanted and I was not performing jobs she assigned me. She removed the jobs but I got dinged for all the cancellations.

I don't have a problem with that at all. I have a problem with the IC that goes in and doesn't complete the work correctly and then still gets paid for it and then someone else goes in behind them and has to clean up their mess!
