Difference Between Auditor & Mystery Shopper

I would like to if there is a mild distinction between completing a shop as an auditor and mystery shopper.

Does the auditor does the same thing as a mystery shopper while on job?

Does the auditor have to acknowledge the staff that he's an auditor while on job? If so, how should he/she do this?

I'm asking these questions because I want to do an auditor job for a gas company in my area in the next weekend coming up.

Please leave your feedback and answers on this question!

Thank You!

independent contractor is the umbrella term.. this includes auditing, merchandising, and mystery shopping...

the main distinction i have found is buying something and revealing yourself...

mystery shopping you usually have to buy something (shop) and never reveal yourself (hence mystery)

auditing you don't have to buy anything usually and you usually are revealed at some point in time...

Yea cooldude is right...I love doing the Audits they pay alot more and you can just go in and get the job done. But Ive noticed for some companies you cant do both!!!
So, can y'all describe to me in certain steps/procedures how y'all would complete a shop.
That varies with the MSC. They should have instructions posted for each type of shop...

Shopping Bama and parts of Georgia.
I'm still learning 24/7.

Sounds like a scheduler testing his clients. Too phnonically deprived.

Desciption comes with the guidelines and the assignment.
Mystery shopping is an umbrella for many different jobs, including evaluations, auditing, loss prevention, etc., with auditing being more complicated than mystery shopping and more time consuming, therefore offering higher pay.

Live consciously....
"phnonically"
must be one o' dem fandangled words... sorry gotta get me sum eddycation... never was good at that... lol

but yes it varies and you would have to give us a specific type of shop or audit...

Some companies, including Corporate Research International, call "Mystery Shoppers" "Auditors".

From my limited experience, a secret, mystery shopping visit is normally less than an hour at a location. The exception is for shopping related to vehicle maintenance. (As a guy, I not sure about trying on dresses.)

Traditionally and auditor would be introduced to staff. The auditor could spend one or several days at the same location.

I am now looking for auditor listings.
