I completed a pizza shop for National Shopping Services and they refused to pay me for it. I received a phone call from one of their representatives asking me to complete the shop the day before Thanksgiving. I took the shop and performed it the weekend after Thanksgiving. I took the three required photos and then I received an email from a representative at NSS stating the photos were of poor quality and I would not be paid. I am a former editor and I could not believe that they didn't ask if I had additional photos. I immediately called the company and found out they only had a problem with one of the photos, which was the top view. She said they were unable to see the toppings. I explained the rep that the topping (mushrooms and onions) were sparse and the small amount of toppings that were on the pizza were under the cheese. She then instructed me to send her the additional photos and she would let me know if they would accept the shop. I sent the additional photos and two days later still no word from the representative. I phoned the company and the representative told me they still couldn't see the toppings, I explained to her again that the small amount of toppings that were on the pizza was under the cheese. She told me that the client would not accept the photos and therefore I would not be paid. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? Why would I be penalized for the way the pizza shops employees make the pizza?? I feel as if NSS never intended to pay me for this shop.
The most upsetting part of this is I have been a shopper for NSS for awhile now, but this was my first pizza shop for them. I never sign up for shops on their job board, they always call me when they can't fill a shop and I have always taken their hard to fill shops. The worst part in addition to not being paid is this was the worst pizza I have ever had!
