Does turning off email notifications affect your standing in any way?

So...I'm just OVER the ridiculous amount of emails some companies send. I'm looking at you Intellishop, Shoppersview, and iccds to name a few. I don't seem to do their shops but that might be just because I'm so sick of the emails I just delete them without reading.

My schedule is about to change so that I will be accepting fewer assignments overall. I have a couple of companies I truly enjoy working with and intend to keep my emails turned on for them. But what about the others? If I just want to check their boards now and again to see if they have anything that interests me will I see less available shops because I've turned off emails?

Maybe I should change my forum name to TheParanoidShopper. I seem to worry about things too much. smiling smiley

You may see more shops because there will be shops that have been canceled or flaked on.
I'm so over the JMRidgeway barrage. Morning, noon and night I get six different types for locations out of my bounds.
I don't want to completely shut down email notifications, you never know what account they might get. And yes, it does take just a few seconds to hit delete, but I'm still tired of them.

I use gmail for my mystery shopping and I read here about setting up mail filters. I set up one for the $5 Spanish funeral home phone shops, as I don't qualify nor would I do them, and either they have cut down or my filter is working. It sends them directly to the trash. A couple times a week I check my trash, like I check my spam daily, for misdirected notifications.
Several times I have temporarily turned off email notifications. Usually it is because of a barrage of emails about a new project or a new scheduler hasn't gotten the hang of the system or even a glitch causing a lot of duplication. It shouldn't make a difference.

Equal rights for others does not mean fewer rights for you. It's not pie.

I don't think the MSC will do anything to you, but you may miss out on some shops. Some aren't posted on boards, others get snatched up pretty quickly and stay on the board for a few hours. It's up to you.

I've turned off a few notifications. Some, because the emails just tell me new jobs are posted and I should log in. Some because I can't/won't do the only shop they offer so there's no point in multiple emails.

If I could, I'd create a filter that only sent me emails when a new type of shop was announced or when a bonus hits a certain level.
Thanks for the input. I'm going to turn off the worst offenders. I don't worry about missing a shop I might want from them because at this point I'm not reading their emails anyway.

Do y'all think I might start to miss the "Please help" subject lines?
If you disable your email notifications for MSPs that use the Clientsmart platform, be advised that you will not be included on the recipient list for shop reminders that your scheduler mass emails through the system.
