Sizing Audit - 625 items!

I just got an email for a sizing audit that should take 45 minutes. They said it is checking 625 items. This sounds insanely high to me. Is that normal for retail audits?

Lets me guess: Ross?!
I refuse to do those. They are a pain however not very difficult. The pay is not worth the time and hassle.
As far as common for retail, no it is not. There is a plethora of retail shops and each is slightly different. What you are talking about is an audit which is different.

if it wasn't for bad luck, I would have no luck at all
I like these. They take 45 minutes to an hour in-store and the data entry is quick and easy.
625 items seems like a lot of work for that amount of pay.

It takes me about an hour for the audit and only a few minutes for the simple report. If I can tuck one of these into a route I'll take it every time.

Used to work for the target company in this discussion, actually they are easy, either sized right or wrong and there are about 125 pieces to count in 5 seperate depts not in one large batch...does not take long.
Not too bad at all. Like others said, 45 minutes to an hour and an easy report. But more importantly, they often offer a bonus. That's when I take them.

I would love to see them with a bonus, but that never happens here; these audits fly off the boards almost immediately. That said, I have no problem picking them up at the regular rate because they're not hard at all and the report is simple.
I like these too.....my first one was sooooooooooooooo intimidating but really wasn't hard at all. My Ross is very neat and organized. It's located on my way home from work, so for me, well worth it.
They are very easy and you should not count over the 125 in each section. They only want the 125 pieces. Often you can count them in the small and medium sizes. The only real pain I find it when they need the shoes counted.
Wait, wait, if there are 625 items and it takes one hour....60 minutes in an hour, thats a little over 10 items a minute or one every 5 or 6 seconds, plus walking to the different departments. Does this sound right?
I don't know....I just did a Kmart audit today and it was 85 items but took me 3.5 hours. By the end of it I needed to go home and lay down.

Thanks for the excellent feedback. I think I'll wait until (if) it's bonused. Our store is a true "hot-mess".
Wait, the pay on these dropped to $12?! Crap. :/

When I was doing them last year and the year before they started at $16. One was $18.

I got an email this morning for a sizing audit at $16.00. Their purchase and return for the same store is $13.00.
