I knew I shouldn't have answered that MF call....

The phone rings yesterday afternoon and it's MF. I don't answer. They don't leave a message, but they call back 30 minutes later.

They ask me to do an arch shop for $18. I can hardly understand him, and he butchers the name of the town so badly that I had to have him spell it for me. It's 2 hours away and my mom's in town visiting me, so I tell them no. Then they offer me $20. Still no. They offer me $40. No. I'm not going to be spending 4 hours of driving for a shop when my mom's in town.

He then offers me another arch shop for lunch, only 20 minutes away from my house, for $18. No, I work during the week and this location is 45 minutes away from my job. Then $20. No. Then $30. I tell him I can do $30 but only for a dinner shop (I could do it while my girls are at soccer practice). He tells me it's for lunch but that he can change it to dinner. Ok, I tell him.

Thirty minutest later he calls back and tells me it has to be for lunch only. He asks me again to do lunch. I explain to him again that I work across town and can't do lunch. He cancels the assignment and hangs up on me.

Sigh..... that's 30 minutes of time wasted yet again with MF. I resolve to never answer MF calls again.

Yesterday, I got a call and missed it. They didn't leave a message. I called them back and ended up with $30 shop. The scheduler spoke too fast but I knew he was reading from a script. Yeah yeah I said. I got the email and it was assigned to me and everything was correct.

Well, now I know to refuse $18 when they call.

Lol, thanks to this forum I've had over 200 calls from MF and never picked up the phone yet.

I think I'm going to start trolling the anti-MF threads, encouraging people to stop answering their calls, with the hopes that I'm the next one in line for the bonus.

I haven't gotten a call from them yet. Pro of living in a big city I guess

I was frustrated the other day when my $40 FF scheduler called. For some reason, he could not hear me and finally hung up. I tried to call right back, and the phone rang and rang with no answer or message. I think they must have been having phone issues. I called back 30 minutes later and my shop was already scheduled. Bummer.

MF is one of the calls I actually do take on a consistent basis.

I have had three separate people tell me now that they are naming their own prices for McD's shops because they can't fill them. I know of four other people (including myself) that have been taken off the McD's project because they changed the qualifications. I wonder if they are rethinking that now.

My husband had to drive two hours to do a shop yesterday- the scheduler mispronounced the name of the town. he kept the shop, but next time will make the guy spell out the town. basically, the shop paid for the gas getting there.

Jon, what part of the requirements changed? Why did that result in you being taken off the project?

They won't tell me. I posted here a couple weeks ago about not seeing any more arch shops, and someone said the same thing happened and they contacted MF to ask why, and MF said that it wasn't anything they did, they just have different requirements now, but wouldn't give details. I contacted them and got a similar response. They won't tell me why, just that it wasn't my fault but they want a different demographic.

I told one of them to use Google maps before they call me, gosh.....four states away? My maximum is 50 miles, tops.

Plus, I speak English only and I can't understand half of them from the Philippine's. Maybe if MF contracted within the United States or Canada for their call centers, then I'd be more open to answering the phone.

MF is the company I do the most shops for. I rarely take the shops for less than $50, and today I did one for $110.

But I won't do that one again for less than $175.

But they are welcome to call me anytime.

At least when they call and say "name your price", they actually mean it.

As for the arches, I've been told often "you've hit the max for this cycle -- we can't give you any more (XXXX) shops until next quarter".

Then when next quarter comes up, there they are!

Since the client limits the number of shops I can do, I have to maximize the bonus on every single one!

I was taking 18.00 all day, I even bluffed them to $20. LOL, they fooled me. I counld have got $30-40.

Is MF like Maritz in the sense that you can call them and discuss bonuses? I see a lot of shops I wouldn't mind doing if the pay was slightly higher or they could be done today. They let me self assign but their dates don't ever work for me. I'm often in front of one of their shops trying to assign it and wish I could just call them and say I'm here, assign it for today and I'd do it.

I've NO'd them to death in the past on a shop in a terrible neighborhood. I told them I'd only do breakfast there (by lunchtime all of the undesirables are awake and looking to snack off their drug-induced stupor) and for a minimum of $20.
They've never accepted.

In my case, they moved a shop date forward without my knowledge or consent claiming that they called me (they did not). I wish that they had called. We could have worked something out.

I was glad I answered the phone. Got 2 shops, one with the previous fee i did it for last time, and one for my going rate for gas audits. Paid for my gas home.

I received the call I was waiting for... the one where a different company asks me to do a shop which involves a 50 mile drive on a highway WITH TOLLS. The bonus was good ($30) but I just couldn't......

Damn! MF hasn't called me... when they usually do for at least 3 shops each month... With huge bonuses!

When I contacted them about the arches not showing up anymore the response I got was that there were no restrictions on my profile and that either another shopper had scheduled them (no one in my area ever scheduled them and I always got nice bonuses) or they weren't shopping those locations anymore :/ I miss my arches shops...

Update: MF called me yesterday, this time an English-speaking female. I did not pick up. She left me a message stating that she knew I had talked to a scheduler the day before, and wanted to offer me the same shop again. I did not return the call.
