Cruel email

MSC just sent me a solicitation for a dinner and bar shop for a restaurant in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.

I live in Minnesota, where it's snowing and 28 degrees.

That's just cruel.

That's just plain vicious.

I hear it's hard to get mystery shoppers in Hawaii. Maybe they'd pay for your plane ticket?

Um, maybe I'm just plain vicious.....
ask them if they will pay your airfare to go.

Never know when they might say yes. What
seems like only one shop to you, might be the
last shop they need done to hit their clients
completion target to get a big bonus.

I just got the same e-mail! Offered me a hero citation. That's the first hero citation I've eveer been offered. They'd need to pay my airfare, though.
I got one for a hotel in Shanghai.

I don't care what the weather is there...but unfortunately, I'm not planning any overseas trips!

I used to live in Hawaii and still have my 808 area code cell phone number even though I moved back to the mainland 6 years ago - every once in a while I get those Hawaii shops and think hmmmm...

Dear Scheduler,

I really, really, really want to do this shop you sent me. My shopping guest is really pumped up too. She really loves those Polynesian drinks. You know, the kind with rum and fruit that are served for two people that have a bit of Bacardi 151 in the center that you can light on fire. Wow! I do have a question. I am trying to plan a route to get there on my GPS and the route just ends at the Pacific ocean. Are you really trying to send me on a long drive off a short pier?

Oh, Ronile999 - are you really saying that you moved from Hawaii to Ohio? Whaaaa?

(PS: I love Ohio - am a native!)
I met a mystery shopper in Texas who is from Hawaii. I wondered how she was dealing with the dryer weather. That wasn't her problem. On the big island, 15 miles is as far as she needed to go, if I remember correctly. My county is bigger than that and it is definitely not the biggest county in Texas. The biggest ranch in the world is in Texas. It has its own 4-H club for children of the workers. We met some when our children attended a competition. By the way, I keep in touch with her, and she is doing well. She seems to enjoy Texas. She now lives in Dallas but is not mystery shopping.
I've often wondered if a MS trip to Hawaii could be profitable. I've heard before that companies have problems finding shoppers there.

I got the same email.

It could be worth it if you combine it with an other shop.

I got it too. I tried, but could not form a route to get there. It would have been cool if it could have been done winking smiley
Don't feel bad, folks. As luck would have it, I was at the Kona International Aiport when that email arrived, leaving for the mainland. Had they offered the shop a day or two earlier, I would have been all over it.

As far as difficulty in finding shoppers, I did get lucky with some Maritz gas stations while in Kona, but it wasn't anything outrageous... $25 was the largest bonus of the five shops I completed for them.

You know you're a shopper when you go to Hawaii on a vacation, and look for gas pumps to photograph.... winking smiley
I'm going there in less than 2 weeks! I dump so many e-mails every day that I don't know if I got that one or not. But my husband did suggest that I look for some dinner shops. But then, why ruin my vacation?

Chix - I moved from PA to OH, from OH to IL, from IL to HI and then from HI back to where I spent most of my life in OH. I now live in the house that I grew up in and my kids go to the same schools I went to (even though two of them were born nearly 4000 miles from here)

I live in Hawaii but did not receive this email lol. They could pay for me to fly to Kona..and maybe a night of hotel stay would be nice smiling smiley
I'm pretty sure the email about the Hawaii shop went nationwide for whatever reason. Looks like the scheduler could be going for travelers.
