Liking MSC on Facebook & Following on Twitter

Do any of my shopper colleagues here do this? And if so how do you not
jeopardize your mystery shopping status? Keeping my shopping adventures
a mystery has always been a private matter to the point my friends and
family have no idea. So I am wondering how you balance liking a page or
being listed as a "friend" to an MSC on Facebook while being anonymous.

I won't do it as I wish to be anonymous...seems counter to all we're trying to achieve.

Looking for shops in Western Canada

I had one scheduler recommend I "like" their page, and it's not a company I was signed up with. He was starting an invitation only page, and I thought it might be fun to talk with other shoppers. I signed up with the company and joined the group, but they have no shops in my area. The scheduler answered all my questions about availability in seconds, saying they have sent proposals to businesses in my area, so fingers crossed. I am still part of the group, and I did get to chat with some shoppers, which was really cool. I did deactivate posts from showing up in my inbox until they shop my area.
I've liked some survey companies and focus groups, which is great because they will post openings on FB and Twitter before emailing you. I've liked Customer Impact as well. I shy away from liking too many, preferring to keep things private. It is fun to see news from a preferred company to shop for, but I'm very selective. I think they are the only one I've "liked".
Social media can be great networking, I'd say join a closed group if you get invited and am interested, who knows what opportunities you will find.
I have a business Facebook and Twitter account...

I don't like any of the MSCs' pages on Facebook. I'm not on twitter, but I am on linked in, and I have no information about mystery shopping on linked in-just my other job stuff. I want to remain anonymous & I don't want most of my acquaintences to know I'm a shopper!
Yeah, that's not happening.

It is especially irritating when MSCs try to motivate us to follow them on Facebook by holding contests or promising advanced notice of (or priority access to) shops. Do they not understand that our anonymity is essential and that linking our social networking profiles to an MSC dramatically decreases that anonymity?
I also have a separate Facebook and Twitter account devoted to mystery shopping.
I've thought about doing that. Maybe I'll make one tonight!

I am in one private group, and it's very helpful for that particular client. But I've pretty much undone the schedulers and the companies.

I don't "tweet" and my FB page of for me, MY timeline. I have 23 people that I allow to see it and that's it. I could not comprehend having 2 separate accounts, too much hassle.

Then again, I don't care what you had for dinner and certainly don't need to see a picture of it.

O.o o.O
