photos of airport lines

Recived an email yesterday offering a shop at various
airports and one of things they want is several photos
of the airport security area. In big letters it says make
sure not to attract attention because you do not want
to raise a security concern. For risking getting caught and
questioned for hours by airport police they will pay you a big 25 dollars.

Hmm...I don't think I would be interested in doing that. They take security very seriously at airports and imagine being arrested and having to explain yourself for hours and hours and hours?

Not for me.
Um....NO. $25 to possibly be stuck in an interrogation room with airport security trying to explain what you're doing. Can you imagine the news headline?
Wow. I hope nobody takes it unless it increases a lot.

Not only the hours of interrogation but what about the delays you will experience the next (and every time thereafter) you legitimately try to go through airport security? If memory serves me right, I think I've even seen signs saying 'no photography' in the airport security and customs areas of airports.
Not for me, thanks, unless I've cleared it with airport security BEFORE doing the shop.
Ha, do you get an authorization letter or are you on your own to convince the TSA? (Not that an authorization letter would do you any good....)

(heart)

And you can also kiss your mystery shopping career goodbye since people will recognize you as that idiot who was caught taking photos in the airport, lol.
If they offered me a hundred for the photos and bumped it to 500 if I had any level of contact with security I'd do it.
On September 10th 2001 I may have taken it for 25 but not these days
I have only one response for this job, WTF???????????

Happily shopping Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts and Connecticut
On some of my airport shops, I am asked to take a photo of the store, merchandise/food arrangement and such. I never have
had any problem.

However, I was sending off a friend, so I went to the airport early and we took pictures together. Only in one of the shops were we asked not to take photos, the Tax Free Liquor store.
We just traveled and my kids Instagrammed the whole time. Unless you were focused on security equipment or personnel, I don't think anyone would notice pictures. Especially if you mix them with selfies. The title says "lines", so it seems like you could get the shots without actually being in the line.

I wouldn't take this unless I really had to be at the airport and had someone with me, though.

It's actually not illegal to photograph or video tape the security area. Some TSA agents may question you for it, but it was made very clear during the holiday opt out protests that they couldn't stop photography in the security lines. Customs areas may be a different story.
