I can't get my roommate to understand why I won't take a $5.00 teller shop when I'm going to the bank anyway. I keep trying to explain opportunity cost to her. If I take it off the board when it is $5 then I can't do it later for $12. Just learn to be patient. I do about 20 teller shops a month that require five minutes on site and five minutes for the report. $200 in shopping beats the interest I get on a savings account or CDs. Lol. And every branch gives me a bottle of water when I go in to make my deposit. I get water for free and give it to the homeless people on street corners all over town. I can't give money, but the bank gives me water. So do the casinos I shop.
I agree that $5 is not huge, but you can do the math on these easy peasy bank teller shops and see that waiting for the extra $5-$7 on 27 branches in the valley has paid off. I've been shopping the bank for over a year. Very little effort has put $2600 into the annual budget and half was from waiting for that $5 bonus. Lol. So that made it "huge" enough for me to take all of them I can get.
